Avenue.
Chapter 19.128 of the Cupertino Municipal Code allows for administrative approval ofa
use permit, authorizing the use of a site in any zoning district for a temporary use (no
more than 6 months). The Director reports his decision to the City Council and Planning
Commission in time to allow any Councilmember or Planning Commissioner to appeal
the decision within fourteen calendar days.
Application:
File No. DIR-2006-13: Director's Temporary Use Permit to allow three separate one-
day car sales events for credit union members at 19055 and 19111 Pruneridge Avenue.
The applicant, Enterprise Car Sales, is proposing to host three, one-day car sales events
for credit union members of Addison Avenue Credit Union, which is affiliated with
Hewlett Packard, a co-sponsor of the event. The applicant proposes to bring in a fleet of
85 used, for-sale vehicles after hours on three separate Fridays, preceding the sales events
and park and display them in a satellite parking lot at 19111 Pruneridge Avenue on the
Hewlett Packard Campus (see Exhibit A). Customers will park at the adjacent lot located
at 19055 Pruneridge Avenue and complete the documentation of any car sale in the credit
union buildinllocated at the same address. The 2006 sales dates are Saturdays: May
13th, July 29 and October 21 st from 8 :00 a.m. to 3 :00 p.m. All sales tax will be reported
from this Cupertino location. All vehicles will be removed by 8:00 p.m. the same date as
the sale. The sales event will be fully contained on these two parking lots and will not
interfere with surrounding land uses.
The temporary use permit is necessary because the zoning for this Hewlett-Packard
property is P(MP) - Planned Development Industrial Park Zoning, which does not permit
retail sales.

Action:
In accordance with Chapter 19.128 ofthe Cupertino Municipal Code, the Director of
Community Development finds .
1. The granting of the application will not be detrimental or injurious to property or
improvements in the vicinity, and will not be detrimental to the public, health,
safety, general welfare, or convenience; and
2. The proposed use will be located and conducted in a manner in accord with the
Cupertino General Plan and the purposes of this title.
The Director of Community Development grants three (2)- day temporary use permits,
effective May 1ih, July 28th, and October 20th, 2006 to allow three car sales events for
credit union members at 19055 and 19111 Pruneridge Avenue. Approval is contingent
upon the applicant reporting all vehicle sales from this Cupertino location for sales tax
purposes. The approval is granted on April I? , 2006. The fourteen calendar day appeal
period will expire on May 1, 2006.

Event Description
Addison A venue CD and Enterprise Car Sales (a division of Enterprise Rent a Car Co.of
San Francisco) will be hosting a one-day used car sale for Addison A venue CD members.
Only used cars will be for sale. Although only members of the credit union will be
invited, some non-members may attend and purchase a vehicle. Typically this is a small
percentage of the sales-5-1O%.
This will be a one-day event, Saturday May 13th, from 8am-2pm. There will be
approximately 85 vehicles on display for sale.
All set up will take place Friday May 12th, after the credit union has closed. All clean up
will take place Saturday 13th, and all vehicles will be moved off by 8pm.
All paperwork and document transactions will take place inside the credit union's
building located at 19055 Pruneridge Ave-Cupertino V A 95014. Vehicles for sale will be
displayed in adjacent parking lot (see attached diagram for display parking, customer
parking etc)
Complementary water, coffee and snacks will be served. No food will be for sale or
