TREES: A ~ PR:X;RAM .
WHEREAS, the people of the state of California have enacted the
California Wildlife, Coastal, and Park I.an:l o:nservation Act of 1988,
'oIhià1 provides funds to the state of California and its political
subdivisions for urban forestry programs; and
WHEREAS, the state Deparbœnt of Fœ.....L...j and Fire Protectia\ has been
delegated the J:eSpCrlS1l:Iility for the IIdm.in.istratia\ of the program within
the state, set:t:1rq up ~"~:ry proc'Ail11"'ØS qov~ a~lication by local
aqerx:ies and non-profit organizations under the pro;ram; and
WHEREAS, said prœedures established by the State Department of
Forestry and Fire Protection require the a~liœnt to certify by
resolution the approval of a~lication(s) before S!,!-mi.."ion of said
a~lication(s) to the state; and
WHEREAS, the a~liœnt will enter into an ägJ:e.:.ucnt with the state of
California to carry out a tree plantin;J project;
NCM, 'nIEREroRE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Citycounc:il of the City of
OJpert:i.no
1, ~roves the filin; of a~licatia\ for the "Trees: A Pro-Growth
PLI.o':fLaJII", under the California Wildlife, Coastal, and Park I.an:l
Ccnservatia\ Bord Act of 1988, state grant assistance for the above
proj ect; and
2, certifies that said a~liœnt has or will have sufficient funds to
operate and maintain the project; and
3, certifies that funds under the jurisdiction of the City counc:il of the
City of 0Jpert:i.n0 are available to begin the project,
4, certifies that said a~liœnt will expen:l funds prior to end of one
year iran date of grant,

5. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City of CUpertino to conduct
all negotiations, execute arrl submit all documents including, but not
lwted to applications, agreements, aJ1Iel')j¡ænts, payment requests arrl
so on, which may be necessary for the CCIIIpletion of the aforementioned
project.
