Dear Mayor Sheila,
Thank you for your attendance at Ro's meeting; your presence was greatly
appreciated, and your understanding of the situation is invaluable. The
circumstances surrounding this hard-working, community-volunteering family
are indeed tragic, compounded by the loss of their voice in this matter.
We have formally requested a meeting with the city authorities to address this
situation and urge them to cease any further retaliatory actions. Our position
has been clearly stated, and we implore you to facilitate this meeting at your
earliest convenience. Time is of the essence in this matter. Your prompt
attention to our request for a meeting with the city authorities is crucial. We
urge you to expedite the process and facilitate this meeting as soon as
possible, as further delays could exacerbate the situation. Your cooperation in
this regard is deeply appreciated. Thank you.

Dear city leaders,
Please keep the Farmers Market currently located at DeAnza College which is scheduled to end on June 30. It was
formerly located at Memorial Park which could also be a consideration for a new site. This event is popular and well
attended. I consider it a good way to support our local farms as well.

SUBJECT: ORAL COMMUNICATIONS 6/19 Please Save Farmer's Market
Dear City Council,
I have heard that the last day for the Farmer's Market at De Anza is on June 30 because
the market lost its lease there. Please save the Sunday farmer's market in Cupertino by
hosting the market on City property.
I buy most of my food at the DeAnza Farmers’ market. I am a senior and live near DeAnza.
So I can easily and safely get to the market and return home. I eat mostly vegetables, no
meat, fish or dairy. On a limited income, the market allows me to feed myself, healthily and
within my budget—both very important factors especially for seniors. I am age 78 and
disabled. I’ve gotten to know some of the vendors and have learned from them how to
prepare dishes with their produce and which produce is especially nutritious. Please save
this market. Keep it close to where it is. There is senior housing going in right across the
street from De Anza at the old Oaks Center. I live right behind DeAnza. I honestly do not
know where I will be able to buy my food if the market closes. The market provides good
variety and healthy organic food for such a reasonable price! There is no where else close
by to do that. The other farmers market in Cupertino on a Friday, invariable conflicts with
medical appointments I have and is so far away and access is not so easy for the disabled.
Vendors at the De Anza farmers’ market have even carried my food for me to my car.
Please, please, please keep it going.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Alice MacAllister

Hello!
We are residents of Faria Neighborhood for the past 24 years. For the first time in our life we
were regularly shopping at the farmer’s market in DeAnza.it had become our only place for
fruits, vegetables and bakes. The coffee at Moonrakers was an icing on the cake!
I can’t believe that something that was working well for the community and getting to be very
popular would be yanked like this. We need this to continue please!
Thanks

Hi,
My kids and I go to the farmers market at De Anza every Sunday barring other engagements.
We love seeing all the fresh fruits and vegetables. Please try your best to keep it at that
location, parking is easy and so is biking there.
Thanks,
Robin
