CUPERTINO MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 16.54 AMENDS THE
CALIFORNIA ENERGY CODE AND REQUIRES THAT EACH NEWLY
CONSTRUCTED BUILDING BE CONSTRUCTED AS AN ALL-ELECTRIC
BUILDING. AN ALL-ELECTRIC BUILDING IS A BUILDING THAT HAS NO
NATURAL GAS OR PROPANE PLUMBING INSTALLED WITHIN THE
BUILDING, AND THAT USES ELECTRICITY AS THE SOLE SOURCE OF
ENERGY FOR ITS SPACE HEATING, WATER HEATING, COOKING
APPLIANCES, OUTDOOR KITCHENS, OUTDOOR FIREPLACES, AND
CLOTHES DRYING APPLIANCES.
CUPERTINO MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 16.58 AMENDS THE
CALIFORNIA GREEN BUILDING STANDARDS CODE AND REQUIRES
THAT NEWLY CONSTRUCTION ONE- AND TWO-FAMILY DWELLINGS
WITH ATTACHED PRIVATE GARAGES SHALL INSTALL A LEVEL 2 EV
READY CIRCUIT AND A LEVEL 1 EV READY CIRCUIT.

DARK SKY LIGHTING COMPLIANCE:
Compliance with the Outdoor Lighting Requirements 19.102.040
i. Outdoor lighting must be fully shielded fixtures, directed downward to meet
particular need away from adjacent properties and rights-of-ways to avoid
light trespass.
ii. Maximum light intensity on a site shall not exceed a maintained value of
ten foot-candles, when measured at finished grade.
iii. All light sources shall have a maintained correlated color temperature of
3,000 Kelvin or less.
iv. All outdoor lighting must be fully extinguished or be motion sensor
operated by 11:00 p.m. or when people are no longer present in exterior
areas, with exceptions.
v. Lighting design standards such as lighting fixtures must be of a design
that complements the building and landscape design.
vi. Prohibited lighting includes outdoor blinking, flashing, or rotating lights,
flood lights, spotlights, and others as applicable.
