Dear City Council, Why are the Residents of Cupertino missing from Cupertino’s Org Chart in the Budget document? According to the new budget document, the City Council no longer officially works for the Residents of Cupertino. Why? The previous org chart had the Residents of Cupertino at the top - - - WHERE THEY BELONG. I surveyed a number of other org charts in nearby city budgets and found that the City Councils consistently report to the Residents. Please see attached images. I am dismayed that neither the mayor nor the city manager could explain why this happened at the Mayor’s monthly meeting on 5/13/2024, and by this time, they were well aware that it had happened because I reported the issue in oral communications on 5/7/2024. Many residents are feeling that the omission of residents represents the true sentiments of the City Council and City Staff. I think that this is a mistake. Please explain how this happened, keep the peace and fix the org chart. If you google California City Org Chart, you will find even more California City Org Charts, overwhelmingly with the residents, citizens, or electorate on top. https://www.google.com/search? sca_esv=31a3dd54a4fd3d08&sca_upv=1&rlz=1C1EJFC_enUS862US862&q=california+city +org+chart&tbm=isch&source=lnms&prmd=invsmbt&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiWo- 7P2JyGAxXnOjQIHUtRBAMQ0pQJegQIDBAB&biw=1579&bih=751&dpr=1.1#imgrc=xjz ZEB7ZrOmsHM Regards, Rhoda Fry, 40-year RESIDENT of CUPERTINO Virus-free.www.avg.com }a 8 p n q p a s o d o J d 9 Z - t y z o z ^ ] uO ! ] J n p o J ] u l }a 8 p n q p a ] d o p v F Z - € Z O Z ^ J uO ! ] J n p o I ] u l Ft o t u n __ iP . tJ® r) <0-a E3®Er+dE<- . 1a E'i®a9,-CA®!. i= a fD = ® 0' Cn r l ] Oq a I > t B a = C^C J ® 0 0 ' I = 0 = I C D C B C L C ^ a.B®I C=ia,5 7J®Ga a= Administrative Services Department Programs Admin istrative Servi cos Finance Human Resources Information Technology lT Equipmenv Replacement Ciffice Support Non-Departmental Risk Management Workers Compensation City Manager and Community Services Deparwhents Programs City Manager's Office City Clerk's Cfflce Public Information Office Publi c safety/ Emergen cy Prepared ness Recreation Faci lity Rentals Community Engagement City Funded Events Community Events Grants Community Support Services *FIE = full time equvalert personnel; 2080 hours per year per 1.0 FTE Community Development Deparfroent Programs Development Services Advanced Planning Code Compliance Building Inspection Facility Maintenance Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment Public Works Departhent Programs General Engineering Development Engineering Envi ronmental Services Streets & Storm Drains Parks & Landscape Mai ntenance Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance Lighting & Landscape Districts Capital Improvement Program Town of Los Gatos Organizational Structure Polic e Adnrfutration Records/Communicalons Patrol lnvcstigatious Trafric Supportscrviccs Parkmg Managcmcn( General Ifdger Accounts Payable Ac counts Rec eivab le Payroll Business Liccuse Tax Puehasing BudgcL ^d minis hatioii Financial Rcporing Treasury & Investments a-14 PPW Administrition Park Services F,ngineering llevelopment Ei`ginecring Program Strects & Signals Building Mainrfuance Landscape & Lighting Environmcntal Services 8elnen'Boards & Com'missions Electlon Co ordination Chins & lusuiancc Customer Service Center =#hoLaf#eof,o£:dn,nation CA£L#crouledrfcastingManagcmenL Cormunity G rants Lit)ray Adnrmistration Rcfcrcnc c S crviccs Children' s Program Reading/Litcrac y Progrtam Co Llec lio n Maintenanc e Circulation & Systcm AdministraLion Los Gatos History Program CITY GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATloN MOUNTAIN VIEW RESIDENTS CITY COUNCIL CllY ATTORN EY CITY MANAGER CITY AUDITOR* cOMMUNirv DEVELOPMENT HUMAN RESOURCES COMMUNITY SERVICES LIBRARY clrv MANAGER's OFFICE HOUSING PUBLIC WORKS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KEY: ( ) ELECTED a APPOINTEDBYCOUNCIL I APPOINTED BYcllY MANAGER CITY BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES Charter Non-Charter FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES POLICE Environmental planning Commission Board of Library Trustees Parks and Recreation Commission Rental Housing Committee Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee Downtown Committee Human Relations Commission Performing Arts Committee Public Safety Advisory Board Senior Advisory Committee Tennis Advisory Board Visual Arts Committee Youth Advisory Committee * Finance and Administrative Services Director serves as City Auditor as appointed by City Council.
