Subject:Request on Agenda item 7 Date:Tuesday, February 6, 2024 10:15:31 PM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Dear Mayor Sheila and city council, I urge you to take agenda item 7 for the 02/06 council meeting off consent calendar and open up to council and public discussion. Following the discussion I implore you to please reject the agenda item 7. Please do not perform a mass change of allowed use on all BA zoned properties. Please do not change allowed use of city hall, library, community hall, DeAnza College, all Cupertino public schools, all Cupertino fire stations, water tank infrastructure sites. Please uphold checks and balances in the city and do not allow such massive changes never seen ever before in one swoop. Any change needed specifically for Regnart to enable Tesselations use can be specific to that site by a conditional use permit. I urge you to reject this change to the muni code and vote against this change of allowed use on BA zoned properties. There has been a lot of concern lately about school closures and schools being given away to private operators. To reduce further angst in the community about such expanded use of public land located in Cupertino kindly reject agenda item 7 for the 02/06 council meeting. Thank you in advance for doing the people’s work and being our voice. Appreciate the service to God! Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Dear Mayor Sheila and esteemed members of the Cupertino City Council, I write to urgently implore you to reconsider agenda item 7 scheduled for the upcoming council meeting on February 6th. Specifically, I urge you to remove this item from the consent calendar and allow for open discussion among the council and the public. Agenda item 7 proposes a mass change of allowed use on all BA zoned properties, including significant landmarks such as city hall, the library, community hall, DeAnza College, all Cupertino public schools, and fire stations, among others. Such sweeping changes to our city's infrastructure warrant thorough deliberation and public input. I respectfully request that you uphold the principles of checks and balances within our city governance by refraining from implementing such unprecedented changes in one fell swoop. Instead, I suggest that any necessary modifications, particularly concerning the Regnart site for Tesselations use, be addressed through specific conditional use permits tailored to individual locations. Furthermore, I urge you to consider the recent concerns within our community regarding school closures and the potential transfer of public schools to private operators. Approving agenda item 7 without thorough examination and community engagement risks exacerbating existing anxieties among Cupertino residents. In the interest of fostering transparency, accountability, and preserving the integrity of our public spaces, I implore you to reject agenda item 7 and vote against the proposed changes to the municipal code regarding allowed use on BA zoned properties. Thank you for your dedication to serving the interests of the people of Cupertino. Your thoughtful consideration of this matter is greatly appreciated, and I trust that you will act in the best interests of our community. Sincerely, Richelle From:du vote To:City Council Cc:City Clerk Subject:Please take agenda item 7 off from 02/06 council meeting and open up council and public discussion! Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Dear Mayor Sheila Mohan and Honorable Members of the Cupertino City Council, My name is Srikantan Nagarajan. I have been a resident of Cupertino for almost 15 years. I would like to voice my concern about the future of Cupertino public schools and all the public facilities in Cupertino. There has been a lot of disquiet in our community lately about school closures and schools being given away to private operators. To address this, I urge you to take agenda item 7 for the 02/06 council meeting off consent calendar and open it up to council and public discussion. After the discussion, I implore you to please reject item 7. Please do not perform such a massive change of allowed use on all BA zoned properties. Please do not change allowed use of city hall, library, community hall, all Cupertino public schools, all Cupetino fire stations, water tank infrastructure sites. Please uphold checks and balances in the city and do not allow such massive change ever seen before in one swoop. Any change needed specifically for Regnart to enable Tessellations use can be specific to that one site by a conditional use permit. We all know that once public property is given away/sold to private operators, it will never come back into the public domain again. This is a one way street and let us not lose our public lands to private parties. Please kindly reject agenda item number 7 for the 02/06 council meeting. Thank you in advance for listening to our community's voice and representing us, the residents of Cupertino. Best regards, Dr. Srikantan Nagarajan From:j Cheng To:City Council; City Clerk Subject:We, the residents, do not consent Item 7! Date:Wednesday, February 7, 2024 3:35:30 PM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Hi All. We residents need your help! You collectively can help Cupertino! City staff are recommending to city council that they change allowed uses of BA zoning on all 23 public properties located in Cupertino even without discussion tomorrow. Public school lands will now be allowed to change to private school use even without any discussion or approval needed in future by city council and with no agendaized item for public input at city council. This includes DeAnza College, city hall, community hall, library, all Cupertino schools, all fire stations, water tank sites. Once this rezoning occurs residents have no input when use needs to change. The director of community development can unilaterally approve it. Use could shift from public school to private or any alternate use deemed for public good. It could be changed to a homeless shelter as the director of community development may decide it is for community good. Or changed to housing for school staff or city staff. Or replace a public school with a private school as was done with Tesselations. We need your help. Please send input to city council asking that they take agenda item 7 off consent calendar, reject agenda item 7 and not change allowed use for all BA properties. Instead any change be limited to a conditional use permit for Tesselations only at the Regnart campus. Thank you! Regards, Joy
