Dear City Council, Regarding City Council Agenda January 17, 2022 #23 Blackberry Farm Pool Improvements Yes, it makes sense to bifurcate the scope of work for this project. Given the amount of investment considered, the public needs to fully understand the cost of running this operation. Given its proximity to the creek and wildlife area on the edge of Cupertino, perhaps a pool complex at Memorial Park would be more appropriate. A similar justification was made for re-thinking the golf course when the cost of irrigation improvements appeared to be quite high. Furthermore, the blackberry farm pool and picnic business was previously in an enterprise fund – this allowed there to be some transparency as to the profits and losses for this business that is being run by the City. I recall that the senior center had also been in an enterprise fund. I recommend that all businesses that are being run by the City be put in enterprise funds to allow for further transparency. Thanks Much, Rhoda Fry
