Members of the public wishing to comment on an item on the agenda may do so in the following ways: 1) E-mail comments by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 to the Commission at teencommission@cupertino.org. These e-mail comments will be received by the commission members before the meeting and posted to the City’s website after the meeting. 2) E-mail comments during the times for public comment during the meeting to the Commission at teencommission@cupertino.org. This was a teleconference meeting with no physical location. ROLL CALL Present: Cheung, Gupta, Halambi, Kasamsetty, Kumar, Luu, Qin, Shah, Tarra. Absent: Ding. Staff: Sonya Lee, Robert Kaufman. All commissioners teleconferenced for the meeting. CEREMONIAL MATTERS & PRESENTATIONS 1. Subject: Presentation on Summer Parks and Recreation Programs Recommended Action: Receive a presentation on the summer 2022 Parks and Recreation programs. Sonya Lee, Teen Commission Liaison gave a presentation on the Parks and Recreation 2022 summer programs which included information on Blackberry Farm, McClellan Ranch Preserve, Picnic Reservations, Sports Center, Camps, Contractor Classes, Events, and Festivals. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2. Subject: Approval of Minutes – September 14, 2022 Recommended Action: Review and approve the minutes from the Teen Commission meeting on September 14, 2022. Chair Kasamsetty motioned to approve minutes. Vice Chair Halambi seconded the motion. Vice Chair Halambi made two spelling corrections. The amended minutes were approved with 9 yes and 1 absent. Commissioner Ding absent for vote. WRITTEN/ORAL COMMUNICATIONS No written or oral communications received. OLD BUSINESS No old business. 6 Cupertino Teen Commission Minutes October 12, 2022 NEW BUSINESS 3. Subject: Introduction to Work Program Items for Teen Commission Recommended Action: Receive a presentation on Work Program items for the Teen Commission from Sonya Lee. Sonya Lee, Teen Commission Liaison, presented the two Work Program items for Teen Commission for Fiscal Year 22/23. A short video on the Work Program was shared along with introducing the two Work Program items for Teen Commission for fiscal year 22/23. The timeline for the process was shared. • Student Internship with Administrative Services • Intergenerational Engagement with Parks and Recreation There was no clarifying questions or discussion. STAFF & COMMISSION REPORTS 4. Subject: Monthly Update Reports Recommended Action: Receive monthly update reports from City Staff and Teen Commissioners. • Staff Updates o Sonya Lee, Teen Commission Liaison, announced that Rachelle Sander had been promoted to Director of Parks and Recreation. o Robert Kaufman, Teen Coordinator, provided a staff update.  Bobateeno September 17 from noon to 3 p.m.  Volunteer Fair October 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Pizza and Politics October 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Wildlife and Harvest Day at Blackberry Farm October 22 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. • Commissioner Updates o Commissioner Kasamsetty provided recaps on Mayor Meeting.
