REGULAR TEEN COMMISSION MEETING
CALL TO ORDER
At 6:01 p.m. Vice Chair Naqvi called the Teen Commission meeting to order. This was a teleconference
meeting with no physical location.
ROLL CALL
Present: Ding, Halambi, Leung, Naqvi, Qin, Tarra, Kasamsetty. Tardy: Zhang. Absent: Luu. Staff: Daniel
Mestizo. All commissioners teleconferenced for the meeting.
CEREMONIAL MATTERS & PRESENTATIONS
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Subject: Meeting Minutes for the February 9, 2022 Teen Commission Meeting
Recommended Action: Review and approve minutes for the February 9, 2022 Teen Commission
meeting.
Commissioner Ding motions to approve amended minutes with proposed changes. Commissioner
Halambi seconds motion. The motion carries unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS
2. Subject: Library Career Panel Event
Recommended Action: Brainstorm potential dates, select three to five speakers or career topics for
the proposed library career panel event, and share with the Youth Activity Board for potential
event implementation.
Commissioners reviewed the career list and selected five career areas of interest for future career
panelists. Commissioners also recommended potential event dates which would have limited
impact on youth and teen attendance.

3. Subject: Update Reports
Recommended Action: Receive update reports from City staff and Teen Commissioners.
Staff Updates
• Staff shared the following general updates:
o The Big Bunny 5k event has returned and will take place on Saturday, April 16.
• Staff provided a final reminder about the YAC Attack event on Saturday, March 26.
Commissioner Updates
• Vice Chair Naqvi provided the commission with a debrief on the March 9 Mayor’s Meeting.

The following items were requested to be added to future agendas: none.
