REGULAR TEEN COMMISSION MEETING
CALL TO ORDER
At 6:01 p.m. Staff called the Teen Commission meeting to order. This was a teleconference meeting
with no physical location.
ROLL CALL
Present: Ding, Halambi, Kasamsetty, Leung, Luu, Naqvi, Qin, Tarra, Zhang . Tardy: None. Absent: None . Staff:
Daniel Mestizo. All commissioners teleconferenced for the meeting.
CEREMONIAL MATTERS & PRESENTATIONS
1. Subject: Swearing-in Ceremony for Incoming 2021-2023 Teen Commissioners
Recommended Action: Swear in the six incoming Teen Commissioners for the 2021-2023 Teen
Commission term.
Deputy City Clerk Lauren Sapudar administered the Oath of Office to the six incoming Teen
Commissioners.
2. Subject: Teen Commission Orientation
Recommended Action: Receive an overview of the Brown Act and Rosenberg’s Rules from the
City Clerk.
Deputy City Clerk Lauren Sapudar gave the Teen Commission an overview of the Brown Act and
Rosenberg’s Rules of Order.
3. Subject: Multi-factor Authorization training from the City’s Infrastructure Division
Recommended Action: Receive multi-factor authorization training from the City’s Infrastructure
Division.
Innovation Technology Technician Iqraam Nabi trained and reviewed the multi-factor
authorization process with the Teen Commission and aided with technical questions.

4. Subject: Approval of Minutes – August 11, 2021
Cupertino Teen Commission Minutes September 8, 2021
Recommended Action: Review and approve minutes from the August 11 Teen Commission
meeting.
Commissioner Naqvi motions to approve minutes. Commissioner Zhang seconds motion. The motion
carries unanimously.

5. Subject: 2021-2022 Chair and Vice-Chair Selection
Recommended Action: Select a Chair and Vice-Chair for the 2021-2022 Teen Commission term.
Staff reviewed the process for selecting a Chair and Vice-Chair.
Commissioners interested in running for the Chair and Vice-Chair roles provided 60 second
speeches supporting their qualifications for the roles.
The first voting round for Teen Commission Chair was held and the results are as follows:
