Page 2 2 DRAFT MINUTES MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN COMMISSION July 9, 2019 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Gerhard Eschelbeck, Erik Lindskog, Muni Madhdhipatla and Jennifer Shearin. Absent: Pete Heller Staff: David Stillman (Senior Civil Engineer) Others Present: None APPROVAL OF MINUTES No minutes to approve. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS No Oral Communications. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS No written communications. OLD BUSINESS 1) FY2019/2020 Bicycle and Pedestrian Projects Capital Improvement Program Projects (Stillman) The presentation shared by David is going to be presented to City Council next week. David is looking for recommendations from the commission on this presentation. The priority list in a general order, not necessarily to be executed in that order. Projects can be adjusted. All references to Regnart Creek Trail will be removed form othis presentation for the City Council meeting. Commissioner Madhdhipatla requested for data on the number of kids biking to Monta Vista, Kennedy and Lincoln schools. David said that this information is available and could be shared. The total additional funding request for FY19 is $242,941 + $65,000 + $1,275,438 + $595,500 = $2,178,879 3 Commissioner Shearin made a motion to accept the presentation for the incremental request with the following changes: 1. Modify slide 12 content McClellan Road Bike Corridor to be identified as Class IV bike lane 2. Linda Vista Trail will bedesignated as Bike & Pedestrian shared use – use project 3. Eliminate Bicycle Boulevard item from funding table 4. In updated presentation to City Council, indicate Bike Boulevard 5 project temporary ballard phase project in 2019 and final in 2020 Commissioner Lindskog seconded the motion. The motion passed 4-0-1 (Heller absent) STAFF AND COMMISSION REPORTS 2) Staff Report (Stillman) No staff report provided. 3) VTA BPAC Report (Lindskog) The VTA BPAC meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, July 10, 2019 4) Public Relations Subcommittee Report No report provided. 5) Report on Committee Assignments and General Comments The August Mayor Meeting will be attended by Commissioner Lindskog. Bikefest participation was discussed for family only ride vs. adult ride and/or both. Commissioner Eschelbeck to propose a model for the meetings moving forward – interactive vs. non-interactive.
