RESOLUTION NO. 1735
OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
RECOMMENDING DENIAL OF A REQUEST TO INSTALL A 40i:FT.
HIGH FLAG POLE AND AN 8 FT. BY 12 FT. FLAG AT THE
CUPERTINO LOC-N-STOR MINI-STORAGE FACILITY LOCATED
AT THE TERMINUS OF MARY AVENUE.
APPLICANT: Cupertino Loc-N-Stor
ADDRESS: 750 Welch Road, Suite 325, Palo Alto, California 94304
SUBMITTED: August 18, 1977
LOCATION: 10655 Mary Avenue, Cupertino
ZONE: P (Planned Development)
FINDINGS AND SUBCONCLUSIONS:
Denial is recommended subject to the subconclusions as set forth in the Minutes
of the Planning Commission meeting of September 12, 1977 and the findings as
stated below:
1. That the proposed flag pole and flag are out of proportion with the scale
of the buildings.
2. That a more appropriate location could be found on the site for flying
the American flag. It is determined that the proposed location serves
as an attention getting device to motorists on the freeway rather than
111 as a display of the American flag for patrons of the mini-storage facility.
