Reso 1735 21-U-77 RESOLUTION NO. 1735 OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOMMENDING DENIAL OF A REQUEST TO INSTALL A 40i:FT. HIGH FLAG POLE AND AN 8 FT. BY 12 FT. FLAG AT THE CUPERTINO LOC-N-STOR MINI-STORAGE FACILITY LOCATED AT THE TERMINUS OF MARY AVENUE. APPLICANT: Cupertino Loc-N-Stor ADDRESS: 750 Welch Road, Suite 325, Palo Alto, California 94304 SUBMITTED: August 18, 1977 LOCATION: 10655 Mary Avenue, Cupertino ZONE: P (Planned Development) FINDINGS AND SUBCONCLUSIONS: Denial is recommended subject to the subconclusions as set forth in the Minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of September 12, 1977 and the findings as stated below: 1. That the proposed flag pole and flag are out of proportion with the scale of the buildings. 2. That a more appropriate location could be found on the site for flying the American flag. It is determined that the proposed location serves as an attention getting device to motorists on the freeway rather than 111 as a display of the American flag for patrons of the mini-storage facility.
