I The. City .Manager has . informed the Planning Commission Chairman at the last City Council meeting" that the Ordinance deadline 411 is September 1st. Chairman Thomson felt this was virtual :y impossible and feels certain we can get an extension; however, it is important to move along at as rapid a pace as is feasible. ... II The City Planner hopes to have a set of the four volumes of his concept of the Ordinance for the Planning Commission to review at the 16th work session on August 13th. Comm. Traeumer suggested each Planning Commissione.r..,,be assign- ed a section or sections of the Ordinance to study thoroughly, in addition to checking over the entire Ordinance . Then, as each Section is wrapped up, it should be forwarded to the City Council to let them know of the progress being made. Chairman Thomson said this can be accomplished through a letter of transmittal. III Once again; Comm. :Gates...moved to throw out CA entirely. He feels it has no place. in Cupertino; He felt this. type of commercial zoning belongs in PC-H only. Chairman Thomson and Comm. Hirshon agreed. 110 Comm. Gates repeated his;;plea, to take CA out of Residential and `put it in PC-H. ir The City Planner saId' this, is what is proposed in his draft : CA shall `be sa' party of :or. shall form a Planned Community District. -1- 11) • Comm. Traeumer felt it would discourage rather than encourage this walk and shop type of business, but felt it should be listed under CA, Comm. Gates felt it should have the following restrictions : 1. Underground delivery 2. No advertising 3. No commercial signs • CB 48.23 Comm. Hirshon asked if we should control the number and size of entrances onto parking lots . The City Planner was asked to look into this matter. cc 48.24 Here the City Planner is to set up a minimum for parking., such as 1:200. He will add a paragraph wherein the developer can provide a parking study for his particular business if he does not plan to go by the ratio recommended by the City Planner. Chairman Thomson felt that we should accept Wilsey, Ham & Blair is minimum parking ratio. CB 48.23 Reduce minimum here 6 per 1000. cc 48.24 . 7 per 1000 here. Shall form or be a part of a Planned Community. CA, CB, CC Shall have an equivalent parking ratio; to Wilsey, Ham & Blair recommendation here . DC, CE, CF Must show development plan,, and, shall meet 'the; following Minimum: . (to be :studied: further., by.; the City Planner.,) CG 48.26 • Mr. Leonard suggested here, that the parking ratio shall be 1 geared to the number of employees . -2- .i • •) CG (Continued) Chairman Thomson felt we should stay with Wilsey, Ham & Blair here and add the provision regarding the number of employees. Lear space per 150 ' and/or 1 car space per 1 employee. CH 48.27 Shall read as follows : "There shall be at least one parking space for each guest unit, plus one space for each 2 employees, plus two spaces for each dwelling unit occupied by permanent residents, and for all the commercial area 1:150 ' plus the CB parking requirement, for areas where property use is similar to CB. " C 48.5i Preface this P with reasons .paragraph (To prevent safety hazard or traffic obstruction. ) Add the word "public " before the last word in the sentence. C 48.53 Shall read as follows : 110 "A parking area that is not needed until a later date (over a year) in the development of an enterprise or institution, shall either be maintained in its original state (orchard, etc . ) or shall be landscaped, if any part of it is both visible from and within 300 ' distance from a street, park, public building or residential area. It shall have something at least as acceptable as the surrounding area. " all Page 29.1 This was reviewed but there were no suggested changes here.
