A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RE-
COMMENDING ADOPTION OF A GENERAL PLAN,
WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino did ' in 1962 engage a consulting
firm of City planners' and engineers to work with the City of Cuper-
tino Planning Commission in the preparation of a long-term compre-
hensive General Plan to guide the present and future physical growth
of the City of Cupertino, and
WHEREAS, the Housing and Home Finance Agency of the United States
Government did participate in partially defraying the cost of prepar-
ing said General Plan, under the provisions of Section 701 of the
Housing Act of 1954, as amended, and
WHEREAS, as required by the State of California Planning Law,
said General Plan consists of a 'map and a statement describing it,
and a statement governing its objectives, the principles and stand-
ards used to develop it, and further including, a land use element,
a circulation element and a statement of the standards of population
density and building intensity, all said statements being contained
in a report entitled, "City of Cupertino, General Plan Program - As-
sumption, Objectives and Principles", dated March 26, 1963, and
• WHEREAS, ' the Planning Commission did, as further required by
State Planning Law, hold two (2) public hearings on the General Plan,
the first on December 16,. 1963, and the second on December 23, 1963,
notices of which were given in the manner and at the time required by
law;
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the map entitled "Cupertino Proposed General .
Plan" prepared at scale of 1" = 1000 and the report; copies of which
are attached hereto and made part hereof, and the same are hereby
adopted by this Commission, together with additional modifications .
as stipulated below, as the General Plan of. the City of Cupertino;
2. That the modifications in. said General Plan adopted by
a majority of the voting members of said Commission recommended:
a. That the words "gross density" be changed to
"net density" wherever the former appear, with
corresponding change in figures.
b. That there be no increase in presently proposed
densitities,
c. That the Master Storm Drainage Plan and Cost
r Study, dated March 27, 1961, be included in
III and made part of the General Plan of the City
of Cupertino, as provided in Section 65469 of
the Government Code of the State of California..
d. Page 8 of the report to have the following
changes:
Line 8: Net Acres Hi Dens. column should read
"50" and Net Acres Med. & Low Dens.. column
should read "125" with corresponding changes in
the No. of Density Units.
Line 12: Change the "55" from the Net Acres Hi
Dens. Column to the Net Acres Med. & Low Dens.
Column with corresponding change in No. of Den-
sity Units, if the Gagliasso property has not
been included.
Line 13: Net Acres Hi Dens. Column should read
"25" and Net Acres Med. & Low Dens. Column should
read "45" with corresponding change in No. of Den-
sity Units. ..
e. Page 10, Item 9 of he report:
Change "gross acreage" to "net acreage". •
f. Page 14, Item 16 change to read as follows:
"Neighborhood park acreage and recreation facili-
ties should be increased to proper . standards" .
3. That the matters constit ting. the General Plan and set
forth. innthe aforementioned report are described on Pages 1 to 1 • in-
clusive;
4.. That the Chairman of the Planning Commission be and he
is hereby directed to cause his signature to be. affixed and recorded
on said General Plan; ,
5. . That the original copy of said General Plan and Report
be certified to the Council of the CitY of Cupertino with a recommen-
dation that the General Plan incorporating the proposed. modifications.
be officially adopted by the City Council and certified thereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the affirmative votes of not less than two-
thirds of the total voting members of the Planning Commission of the
City of Cupertino, at a. regular meeting of the said commission held
on the 27th day of January, 1964, by the following roll, call vote.:
