staff make some additional checking with some of the surrounding
communities to see whether they have allowed this type of
operation under a Use Permit in C-1 zones or whether they still

1. Moved by Comm. Johnson, seconded by Comm. Hirshon, that the
City Planner draft a letter to the CityCouncil, requesting
the Planning Commission be held to six :members at this time.
Then, when Capt. Small is transferred to Washington in the
spring or summer, it will be reduced to five. It was felt
a smaller group would be more efficient.

time is of the essence, it was proposed the City Staff draft a
letter to the ABC Board, making note of the Planning Commission's
objections (to a cocktail lounge in the Mayfair Shopping Center).
This is to be a note of concern, on a city planning standpoint,
because of the R-1 close by. The City Attorney is to be apprised
of this.

Tentative Map; 7.3acres south of Junipero Serra Freeway and
west of Blaney Avenue.
Moved by Comm. Frolich, seconded by Comm. Johnson, to call
attention of the City Council that the graph used is ambiguous,
and that it does not state that it should stop at 20 units per
acre, and to offer two possible avenues for a remedy:
1. To limit the total development to a maximum of 20 units
per acre, regardless of size, or
2. Put some limitation as to the number of buildings per lot.
He did not, however, want to exclude large apartment complexes.

City Council to pay particular attention to drainage of the

impression the traveller gains from the property use immediately
adjacent to the freeways, we recommend that very serious con-
sideration be given to locating the City's corporation yard in
some less obvious place within the City of Cupertino.

from the easterly City Limits to Hwy 85 be approved with the follow -
in recommendations:
(1} Instead of a service median island, it is recommended that
provision for planting be provided in place of PCC cap.

to supply plantings in this median area, according to recommen-
dations by City Forester.
