2. Application'7-U-75 of McDONALD's CORPORATION. 'USE PERMIT
to allow construction of a restaurant within a Planned
Development Zone, Said property is located at the south-
east corner of the intersection of Homestead Road and
Stelling Road. First Hearing continued.
The Assistant Planning Director stated that the staff is concerned
about traffic and parking associated with this application.
There were no comments from the audience.
Moved by Comm. O'Keefe, seconded by Comm. Adams to continue
application 7-U-75 to September 8, 1975, per staff recommendation.
Motion carried, 4-0
Comm. O'Keefe wanted to comment that while he was at the Embarca-
der*o Center in San Francisco he saw a McDonald's restaurant there
and the architecture had been handled quite imaginatively. He
hoped they would give as much consideration to any proposal they
might make for a Cupertino site4 Comm_ Adams commented on a
unique design they had used in Denver.
3. CITY.OF CUPERTINO, Public Hearinc, to consider 1973
Comprehensive General Plan,
(a) Hillsides.
TheAssistantPlanning Director stated that the Environmental
Review Committee has determined that additional economic consider-
ations should be made a part of the plan in order to more fully
comply with the environmental impact requirements. It had been
further determined that the Commission should first gather input
from various agencies prior to sending the document to the City
Council. There were no comments from the audience.
Moved by Comm. O'Keefe, seconded by Comm. Adams to continue
the Hillsides discussion to September 22, 1975.

4. Abandonment of. :westerly 5` of P.U.E. on Lot 23, Tract 3407 -
Vern Frediani.
The Assistant Planning; Director st.:ted that this property is behind
the Ralph's Market and :Nave -On sto. e alo-ng Saratoga --Sunnyvale Road.
The City Attorney has determined tl�at the Planning Commission shall
review an abandonment of easements within the City. There have been
no objections to this proposal from the utility companies.
Chairman Gatto asked for coirmettts i rori the audience. There were none.
Moved by Comm. Adams, seconded by Comm. Woodward to adopt a resolution
to the City Council rocoium-ending gianting of the request by Mr. Fredi_ani.

5. Consideration of initiation of tzeariri to=imend General Plan
regarding 2.24 acres locwt:ed sc utherl_y of: City Corporation Yard
for expansion of said yard.
The Ass:i.st ,.nt Planning Director sug _e ted a public hearing be set for
September 22nd by the Planning Coi-,-: iss-i_on to consider amendment to the
General Plan concerning_ the proport adjacent to the Corporation Yard
since the General_ Plan does not prcoo-So this type of use. In response
to Comtn. Adams' question, the Ass.!_, taut Planning; Director gave the
details of the Director of Public 1. Drks' recent memo to the Council
concerning alternative sites as weil_ as the need for the additional
property.
Since there were no comitients from the audience, it was moved by
Comm. Adams, seconded by Comm. Woodwward to set for public hearing on
September 22, .1.975, consideration c � %mencjment to the General Plan
for the property adjacent to the Cc-pc�ration Yard.
