RESOLUTION NO. 1446
OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPE}.'TINO.
RECOIR ENDING APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1964
GENERAL PLAN CONCERNING LAND USE ELEPLENT FOR THE
HILLSIDE SEG1IENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN AREA.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission as a. part of the comprehensive General Plan
study has concluded its deliberations relative to the hillside area;
THEREFORE,,_ BE IT RESOLVED,
•1. That the Planning Commission hereby approves an amendment to the 1964
General Plan as set forth inExhibit C--1 (General Plan Map) , Exhibit
C-2 (General Plan Policy) and appendices A and B attached hereto and
made.a part of.
20 That the approval of said documents is made subject -to the following
revisions and findings:
as That General Plan Hillside Policy 1.1 be added to read as
.follows.
All property designated on Exhibit C-1 as rural
residential shall have an underlying use classification
of public park/open space to enable the City, the Mid -
Peninsula Regional Park District, the Santa Clara County
or other public agencies to acquire properties for public
:park/open space purposes in a manner to be consistent with
the General Plano Lands`designated foothill.residential
and rural residential on Exhibit C-1 can be utilized for
agricultural and other private open space uses.
b That the economic impact evaluation section of Appendix"B
shall be corrected to delete sales tax revenue from the
expenditure of money for food. The Commission stressed
the -point that the economic impact section only addresses
the "City Plan" The Council may wish to conduct an
economic impact evaluation on the remaining four General
Flan alternatives.
0o The Commission finds that the utilization of the 200' x 2001
.grid system as applied to slope density formula will not
significantly increase the overall dwelling unit yield within
the foothills as described on Table 1 Exhibit.C-2o However,
the Commission determined that the application of the grid
system .may substantially -increase the number of dwelling units
-on particular properties with certain unique characteristics
(relatively flat area):and thus alters the.xural character .
for that specific property.
