Discussion followed regarding ways in which the Euphrat Museum could
assist with the Fine Arts Commission, in particular, the children's mural
project. It was suggested that art work created by students through the
Euphrat's Art in Schools program could be exhibited at the Cherry
Blossom Festival, rather than trying to squeeze another project into the
schools' busy curriculum. Diana Argabrite asked that the Fine Arts
Commission contact her with next year's theme for the festival.
B. Signage at new public restrooms in Memorial Park.
City Clerk reviewed an article regarding public art in restrooms to curb
graffiti. She suggested that signage on the outside of Memorial Park
restrooms could be considered. She also stated that the Senior Center has
requested assistance regarding the selection of art for the new center and
also for the "art wall".
Consider feasibility of dropping the number of commissioners from seven
to five when two individuals are termed out at the end of the year.
