Tardy:Vemula Absent:Subramanyam Staff Present:Daniel Mestizo CEREMONIAL MATTERS&PRESENTATIONS j MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING 1. March 27,2019-Commissioner Chan motions to approve minutes. Commissioner Venkatasubramanian seconds motion.Motion passes unanimously. WRITTEN/ORAL COMMUNICATIONS OLD BUSINESS i 2. <hack>Cupertino 2019 Planning for<hack>Cupertino 2019 was finalized and action items were given to Commissioners. 3. If I Were Mayor Contest Staff Liaison Mestizo reported the proposal was passed along for approval. 4. City of Cupertino&FUHSD Communication Bridge Teen Commission involvement in the FUHSD Wellness Fair event were reviewed and discussed. At an April l It IDC meeting,it was decided that Teen Commission involvement would include providing mobile recreation options,photo booth,and a slime craft activity. 5. Teen Commission and Cupertino Library Collaboration Three Teen Commissioners were requested to sit in on the selection committee for the upcoming i TED"Youth@TorreAve event.A selection committee meeting will be held at a later time to discuss the selection process and criteria. y NEW BUSINESS I 6. Potential collaborations with Safe Routes to School Prop-ram I Safe Routes to School Coordinator,Cherie Walkowiak,visited the Teen Commission to present them with an overview of the program and ongoing SR2S projects.The Teen Commission gave feedback on traffic issues surrounding local schools and discussed potential collaborations including giving out free helmets and other bike giveaways.The possibility to visit local high schools to lead traffic talks or implementing a crossing guard were discussed.It was requested by the Teen Commission for Cherie to return at a future commission meeting after the Teen Commission had a chance to discuss collaboration ideas in more detail. 7. Pilot City Shuttle Program Senior Transit and Transportation Planner,Chris Corrao,presented to the Teen Commission regarding a pilot for a City-wide shuttle program.The Teen Commission expressed support for the idea and gave feedback on the presentation.
