April 24,2019—Commissioner Chan motions to approve minutes. Commissioner Tung seconds motion.Motion passes unanimously. WRITTEN/ORAL COMMUNICATIONS OLD BUSINESS 2. 2019-2020 Work Pro am j The Teen Commission worked on their 2019-2020 work program.A draft will be presented at the next meeting for Teen Commission approval. ) 3. City of Cupertino&FUHSD Communication Bridge The Wellness Carnival was debriefed and suggestions for improvements were made. 4. TEDX Event 1 The selection committee for the Ted"event gave an update. 5. If I Were Mayor Contest The Teen Commission agreed to include an educational component to the contest. An updated contest entry form will be presented at the next meeting. 6. Potential collaborations with Safe Routes to School Program Collaboration ideas were discussed in more detail with the City's Safe Routes to School Coordinator,Cherie Walkowiak.The Commission requested for City staff to reach out to FUHSD for collaboration. NEW BUSINESS 7. Cupertino Cafe(formerly,Teen Commission Youth Activity Board and Cupertino Library collaboration) Staff provided an update on the event's progress.Informed The Commission that the name was selected and the venue was secured.The Teen Commission agreed to assist with supplying snacks and drinks for the event. STAFF&COMMISSION REPORTS a) Staff Liaison Report • N/A b) Commissioner Report j • Vice Chair Tan attended the Mayor's Meeting on May 151 and provided the following updates: o Fine Arts Commission would like help promoting Distinguished&Emerging Artists Awards. o The Housing Commission discussed having youth engagement. o The Sustainability Commission would discussed having youth engagement. o Bike-Ped Commission is doing a Safe Routes to School survey.
