Reso 1948RESOLUTION NO. 1948 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE, _.HOUSING, CIRCULATION, OPEN SPACE, CONSERVATIONS ELEMENTS OF THE GENERAL PLAN AND APPROVING THE SEISMIC SAFETY; -PUBLIC SAFETY, NOISE AND SCENIC HIGHWAYS ELEMENTS OF THE GENERAL PLAN WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held public hearings and considered testimony from citizens and from representative of other public agencies and interested groups; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds that the amended Land Use, Circulation, Housing', Open Space, and Conservation Elements and the Public Safety; Seismic Safety, Noise and Scenic Highways Elements will not have a significant -impact on the environment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the Planning Commission hereby approves the General Plan as set forth in Exhibit A entitled, "City of Cupertino Comprehensive General Plan - 1st Draft".. 2. That the Planning Commission hereby authorizes its Chairperson Pro Tem to endorse said Plan and forward said Plan to the City - Council for adoption. 3. That the Planning Commission recommends to the City Council that said Comprehensive Plan be granted a Negative Declaration. Robert Cowan, Assistant Planning Director SUBJECT: Agenda Item No. 30 - General Plan Hearing The attached list reflects the consensus positions reached by the City Council on June 26, 1979. The list consolidates changes to the "June 21" and "June 26, 1979" memos and includes suggested wording for new policies not previously listed. The Planning Commission recommended different wording for policies dealing with the historical designation for the Cali Mill, street improvements and the implementation of MORGA. The Planning Commission's suggested wording is described in the minutes of the June 26, 1979 joint meeting. Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council take the following actions. 1. Grant a Negative Declaration 2. Adopt Resolution iio. 5046 which in turn adopts the Comprehensive General Plan. Immediately upon adoption of Resolution No. 5046, staff will revise the draft document to incorporate the changes listed on the attachment.
