AGENDA ITEM NUMBER'
AGENDA DATE April 21, 1980
-SUBJECT AND ISSUE-- =—implication 1 -GPA -80 - City of Cupertino General Plan Amendment
On March 24, 1980, the Planning Commission approved a General Plan Amendment involving
six sub -areas of the community. The six sub -areas were separated from the current
General Plan Review when it became apparent that the major issues involving transportation
and housing density in the Core Area would not be resolved in a reasonably short time
period. Exhibit A of Planning Commission Resolution No. 2051 describes the existing
land use designation and proposed amendment. The exhibit also describes the basis for
the amendment. Background information prepared by staff and affected property owners
is also attached. -
An Area A property owner will appear before Council on April 21, 1980 to ask for a
10-30 unit per acre range in lieu of the 10-20 range recommended by the Commission.
Please refer to the staff report of January 25, 1980 to obtain information regarding
probable development impacts associated with the proposed 10-30 range.
Since the "Old Monta Vista Specific Plan" was a jointly adopted plan, the proposed
land use change of Area D and the change in land use Policy No. 6 referenced in
Areas K and L must be referred to the County of Santa Clara for review and subsequent
adoption.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Planning Commission Resolution No. 2051 recommending the adoption of a
Amendment involving six sub -areas is attached. The Planning Commission
the granting of a Negative Declaration.
