ROLL CALL Commissioners: Gopal Kumarappan, Liana Crabtree, Amanda Jia Wo, Christie Wang, Rose Grymes City/County Library Staff: Christine Hanel, Clare Varesio, Nancy Howe Absent: None Guests: Diane Roche APPROVAL OF MINUTES Regular Meeting of November 1, 2017 Commissioner Grymes motioned to approve the draft minutes as submitted and Commissioner Wo seconded. Motion passed. POSTPONEMENTS None ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS None OLD BUSINESS Cupertino User Survey Results & Actions The Cupertino Library staff provided updates on the following items: - Increases library seating, the wayfinding project (scheduled for late December/early January), and the weekend programs from Sept to Dec (about 1737 attendees) NEW BUSINESS Poet Laureate Reception – January 2018 Enhance certificate for Poet Laureate outgoing gift. STAFF AND COMMISSION REPORTS  Cupertino Community Librarian Report – November report as submitted.  County Librarian Report – As submitted. Year End Service Report, 2017 presented by Diane Roche.  Friends of the Library Report – None.  Cupertino Library Foundation Report – None.  Commissioner Report – None.  Poet Laureate Report – None.  Staff Report – Christine Hanel reported on the following: o December 1 - Tree Lighting at 6pm at the Quinlan Community Center o December 2 - Breakfast with Santa o December 8 - “A Very Merry Movie” Movie in the Park from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, featuring “Home Alone” at Creekside Park  Calendar Review – January meeting will be scheduled as originally planned. Commissioners to attend Mayor’s meetings, Wednesday @ 5:30pm, as follows: Commissioner Wo – December 13, location is TBD. ADJOURNMENT Time: The meeting adjourned at 9:12pm.
