Ms. Jemufer Shearin, Cupertino Bicycle Pedestrian Commission Chair, provided a
presentation to the commission. The report consisted of data related to bicycle/pedestrian
vs. auto collisions from late 2014 to spring 2018. One significant take-away from the data was
the lack of reporting of minor collisions and injuries. This lack of reporting may be as a result
of residents feeling that the collision is not significant and therefore no need to involve the
authorities. The data also shows that there has been one fatal accident and one major injury
accident.
