MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
1. February 28,2018—Commissioner Shearin motions to approve minutes.Commissioner
Rajaram seconds motion.Motion passes unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS
2. Teen Stress Video Contest—Check-in
Commissioners neared completion of the teen stress video contest. Staff presented video
contest guidelines and rules and the commission had an opportunity to make edits.
Marketing timeline was developed and commissioners were assigned to tasks.
3. <hack>Cupertino 2018 Event Check-in
The Commission continued planning for the hackathon. Workshops continued to be
finalized and will be led by different high school organizations. Commissioners reached
out to judge candidates and received responses. Commissioners will follow-up with
confirmed judges.Staff and commissioners agreed on action items and each member will
present their completion status at the next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
4. Potential Safe Routes 2 School Middle School Grant Proiect
Staff reminded the Teen Commission about the potential for a middle school project
which would encourage teens to walk,bike,or carpool to school. The Teen Commission
may look into ideas in the future.
5. YAC Attack Debrief
Staff asked the Teen Commission for feedback on the YAC Attack event. The Teen
Commission gave pros and cons of the event and staff will report back to the event
committee.
6. Teen Stress Initiative Brainstorm
The Teen Commission discussed potential ideas on addressing the issue of teen stress.
These ideas will be explored at a future meeting.
STAFF &COMMISSION REPORTS
a) Staff Liaison Report
Daniel Mestizo presented the Teen Commission with the following information:
• The second reading of the Social Host Ordinance will be on Tuesday,March 20th.
Commissioners will be attending the council meeting.
b) Commissioner Report
• Chair Rajaram attended the March Mayor's Meeting and reviewed the CREST
award nominations

At 8:19 pm the Teen Commission adjourned to a REGULAR MEETING which will be held on
Wednesday, March 28th,2018 at 6:OOpm in the Conference Room of the Quinlan Community
Center, 10185 North Stelling Road,Cupertino.
