MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
1. December 20. 2017 — Commissioner Sahni motions to approve minutes
contingent on changes. Commissioner Shearin seconds motion. Motion passes
unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS
2. Social Host Ordinance— Final Draft Review
Deputy City Manager Jaqui Guzman presented the Teen Commission with the final draft
of the Teen Commission meeting. Commissioner Sahni motions to recommend
City Council adapt the Social Host Ordinance. Commissioner Subramanyam
seconds the motion. Motion Passes unanimously.
Members of the Commission agreed to attend the February 81h Public Safety Commission
meeting and announce their support of the ordinance. Members of the Commission also
agreed to attend the February 201h to aid in presenting the ordinance to City Council.
3. <hack> Cupertino Planning
Planning for <hack> Cupertino 2018 continued and marketing strategies were reviewed.
Commissioners agreed on event action items and their completion status will be
presented at the next meeting.
4. Teen Stress Video Contest— Planning
Commissioner Subramanyam agreed to attend the next Fine Arts Commission meeting
and request support for the Video Contest.
5. ACA 10 Review
The Teen Commission's stance on ACA 10 was reviewed with new commissioners.
6. Teen Workshops —Application Review
Aditesh Kumar submitted an application to be considered for a Teen Workshop. The
Commission was interested in supporting the workshop and asked staff to follow-up with
Aditesh to give a detailed presentation of his proposed workshop.
NEW BUSINESS
7. Safe Routes 2 School Presentation and Roundtable Discussion
Chelsea Biklen, the City's Safe Routes to School Coordinator, visited the Commission to
present on the Safe Routes to School Initiavite. Chelsea reviewed the program's goals,
current project, and future projects. She also requested the commissions support with
the following: (1) more avenues for teen involvement, (2), outreach to middle schools,
(3) project ideas for a grant (4) students to interview for SR2S videos, and (5) any other
ideas or methodologies the City can use to get students walking, biking, or carpooling to
schools.
STAFF &COMMISSION REPORTS
a) Staff Liaison Report
Daniel Mestizo presented the Teen Commission with the following information:

b) Commissioner Report
• Commission Shearin attended a Safe Routes to School meeting and reported on
the new Regnart Creek Trail. City staff requested future support and specifics
would be given at a future time.
MISCELLANEOUS - NO ACTION REQUIRED
ADJOURNMENT
At 8:39 pm the Teen Commission adjourned to a REGULAR MEETING which will be held on
Wednesday, January 241h, 2018 at 6:OOpm in the Conference Room of the Quinlan Community
Center, 10185 North Stelling Road, Cupertino.
