Place: 10321 So. Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road ROLL CALL: Commissioners Present : Adamo, Fitzgerald, Frolich, Leonard, Rampy, Commissioners Absent : Small, Snyder ° Commissioner Frolich called the meeting to order. WILSEY, HAM, BLAIR (George Volker) General Plan Program Mr. Volker presented two existing facilities maps, one showing storm drains and sanitary sewers, the second showing water mains. • Mr. Volker was invited to attend the January 31 meeting with Mr. Fenley and the Commission. A report was presented, covering the following: 1. Regional and Local Limitations and Problems 2. Existing Park and Recreation Standards 3. Public School Enrollments . There was much interest in Table 2, Covered Employment in Selected -Industries, Santa Clara County, Cupertino, Campbell and Los Gatos Plannin; Areas. Mr. Volker' s firm based their figures on records of employment covered by workmen' s unemployment insurance. Commissioner Leonard questioned the figure of 1.2% total employment of wholesale trade in Cupertino Planning Area, saying Mariani' s had a larger number than l9 as shown on Table 2. Retail trade with 514 seemed high to the Commission. Commissioner Leonard also pointed out that in Transportation, Communication and Utilities, Cali and PG&E had more than 31 employees, just to mention two firms . The Commission suggested a few other possible sources of more realistic figures of employment in Cupertino, adding that a challenge from the audience at the time of the Master Plan presentation would make the City suspect on the entire plan. At the next presentation, Mr, Volker will have an analysis of: 1. Economy 2. Population forecasting 3. Employment and purchasing power 14. Future land requirements A preliminary General Plan is due May 1. It was moved by Commissioner Adamo, and seconded by Commissioner Rampy that the meeting be adjourned. ADJOURNMENT: 9: 00 P.M.
