I ROLL CALL Commissioners Present: Leonard, Bell, Cali, Paizis Commissioners Absent: Neilsen II READING OF MINUTES of regular meeting of June 1, 1956 - approved as read. III COMMUNICATIONS A. Written 1. Santa Clara County Planning Commission a. Copy of tentative subdivision map. Burke & Kendal. Mt.View-Stevens Creek Road near Poppy Lane b. Boundary Commission - recent annexation maps c. Agenda for 6/20/56 - County Planning Dept. 2. Mr. Murphy, representing the Rundle Company presented p~ans for a sign on the Fred Lawrence Restaurant. They will re- locate the sign if the Stevens Creek Road widening makes it necessary. Moved by Commissioner Bell that a permit for erection of a sign be granted; seconded by Commissioner Cali and carried 4 - O. B. Oral 1. James E. Spain - continued inquiry on Highway 9 setbacks. Chairman Leonard reported that Mr. Meyerholz had submitted plans to the County and that the County appeared to be sati- sfied. It was moved by Commissioner C~ that Spain be per- mitted to proceed with his plans on the proposed setback; seconded by Commissioner Bell and carried 4 - O. 2. The status of the access streets to Highway 9 from the Rodrigues subdivision appears to be in doubt. It is not certain what has been dedicated for street use and what had been accepted by the County. Mr. Saich reported that, according to his information, only one street had been accepted. Comoissioner Bell reported that the parking lines on the access road in question are marked to the very edge of the road. He saw three alternatives at the moment, that is, providing a curb, making it a one-way street with access from Scofield, or opening Sunrise onto the Highway. Chairman Leonard suggested the matter be tabled until further informa- tion could be brought to bear and it was so moved bY Commis- sioner Bell; seconded by Commissioner Cali and carried 4 - O. Attorney Anderson added that his information indicated that Scofield was the only street accepted by the County, that the alley was not accepted. 3. County Fire Marshall Bruce Wiggins reported by telephone that three Cupertino stores have applied for fireworks permit~ The permits are granted on the recommendation of the Fire Marshall subject to approval by the City Council. Attorney Anderson said he intended to draw an emergency ordinance preventing sale of fireworks in the City in order to be pre- pared in the event the Council decides that it wishes to pro- hibit fireworks within the City. IV A brief discussion followed on the subject of a SUBI:IVI~:.LON . ORDINANCE and comparison of the two most interesting sam¿les. V HEARINGS 1. Second hearing on Texaco application for C-I-H zoning an,. use permit, S. W. corner of Highway 9 and Homestead, Kompanice Property: - 2 - No one at the hearing was opposed to the Texaco application, Mr. Dunwoody, representing Texaco, made a verbal offer of $750.00 as Texaco~s contribution to sanitary or storm sewers, He also offered to dedicate the land back to the eventual street lines. After general discussion Commissioner Be~~ moved that the use permit be granted plus a recommendation to the City Council in favor of rezoning the ~roperty tü C-1-H; seconded by Commissioner Paizis and carried 4 - 0, VI In the matter of Cupertino Sanitary District policy, it was mentioned that the Board has set a rate apparently de¡¡igned to raise money for supplementary USe.
