MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
1. September 20, 2017 -Commissioner Lau motions to approve minutes. Commissioner Sid
seconds motion. Motion passes unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS
2. Social Host Ordinance Discussion
Deputy City Manager Jacqueline Guzman presented the commission with a first draft of
the Social Host Ordinance. The commission made a few comments and suggestions and
the Deputy City Manager will be returning to a future meeting with a revised draft.
3. 2017-2018 Work Plan Discussion
Commissioners continued discussing projects. At the October 25th meeting, the work plan
will be finalized.
NEW BUSINESS
4. Opportunities for Sustainability Commission Collaboration with Teen Commission
Lauren Dickinson with the City's Environmental Programs visited the Teen Commission to
present opportunities for collaboration with the Sustainability Commission.
5. Business Workshop for Teens
Aditesh Kumar presented the Teen Commission with a proposal to lead an 8 hour
workshop to cover the utilization of Amazon Web Services.
6. Local Currency Discussion
Ari Lattanzi in the City's Community Development Division came to the meeting to
discuss the potential of having a local currency for Cupertino. This is in response to
Mayor's Challenge, an initiative to encourage city leaders to think of inventive ideas that
would tackle urgent problems facing today's cities.
7. Teen Commission Outreach
This item is postponed and will be moved to a future agenda.
8. YAC Social Details
Information was given to the Teen Commission regarding the YAC Social on October 12 th
in San Carlos .

Daniel Mestizo presented the Teen Commission with the following information :

• Commissioner Rajaram discussed his attendance to the Mayor's Meeting and the
possibility of using the Cupertino Courierto do outreach for programs.

At 8:46pm the Teen Commission adjourned to a REGULAR MEETING which will be held on
Wednesday, October 25 th at 6:00pm at the Quinlan Community Center, Conference Room, 10185
North Stelling Road , Cupertino .
