COMMISSIONER REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
• Commissioner Mahalingam attending next June mayors meeting. Attended -
Santa Clara cultural commissioner event and liked that City partnered with
Whole Foods. Maybe there is opportunity to partner with businesses here or
Rotary Club . Raji will come to August meeting with proposal.
Blank wall interiors in public spaces, for example McClellan Ranch or Quinlan.
• Commissioner Sanchez reported :
(1) Meeting with Amanda Golden for Los Altos master plan for the arts, because
they do not have a percent for art requirement. There may be elements in their
master plan that can be borrowed.
(2) Blank wall audit along the main corridors. (a) must be a one-story building,
(b) face pedestrian traffic not geared to auto traffic (c) sized appropriately. Found
two: bring it to August meeting with visuals and contact owner.
(3) Americans for the Arts convention in SF in June. Mike will attend and staff
will see what's left in budget for reimbursement or training coverage.
• Chair Chokshi r eported source of art id ea s. F ALC dis cu sse d giving back to
