1) 2017-18 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Annual Action Plan
Vice Chair Chu opened the item. Staff member Heusler gave an overview of the 2016 Annual Action
Plan, written by Consultant, Colleen Lopez. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) has not released funds yet and the City continues to estimate the amounts based on FY16/17
amounts. In addition, the City will not enter into contract for FY 17/18 CDBG funds until funding
allocations are distributed by HUD. Chair Daruwalla joined the meeting .
During the Action Plan process, the City determined that is has $143 more dollars in the FY 17/18 CDBG
public service category and will split this amount evenly between the two recipients (Live Oak Adults
Day Services and West Valley Community Services-CARE). The adjusted amount will be presented to
City Council at the June 20, 2017 hearing on FY 17/18 funding allocations.
MOTION: Chair Daruwalla moved to approve Draft Resolution 17-XX recommending approval of the
2017-18 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Annual Action Plan to City Council for
final approval.

STAFF AND COMMISSION REPORTS:
Staff member Heusler announced that the new City website has launched and encouraged
Commissioners to visit the site. Chair Daruwalla gave an overview of the work done b y all City
commissions presented at the Mayor's monthly meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:45am to next regular Housing Commission meeting on July 13, 2017,
9:00am.
