The staff report (section "Proximity to Residential Use) omits these nearby businesses from its analysis giving the misleading impression that later hours are normal for the area; they are not. Also, I would like to mention that the hours listed for Alexander's Steakhouse in the staff report are likewise misleading. Alexander's Steakhouse dinner hours are until 10:30 pm at the latest. Once again, I would like to express my opposition to application U-2016-04- extension of hours of operation for Meet Fresh/Tea Chansii at Main Street Cupertino. I understand that the planning department has received over a dozen similar objections from residents/homeowners. I have been a Cupertino resident and homeowner at the Metropolitan at Cupertino complex for nearly ten years - when I purchased my home at the Metropolitan, a huge draw was the adjacent vacant acreage which was being designated by the city as a large green park. Since then, we residents at the Metropolitan (and Cupertino at large) have heard that plan change so many times - first the promise of a spacious paxk, then a smaller park with senior housing, and now the reality is that we stare out of our bedroom windows at the bright lights of Target, 5 Iegrees, and Meet Fresh/Tea Chansii. Main Street is quite popular, and with the parking lot and busy retail adjacent to our homes, we are already dealing with a lot of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The Metropolitan complex is filled with many families - many of us have young or school age children- and the noise from customers at 11 pm (the current closing hour for food service/retail in the immediate vicinity) is disruptive enough. I am afraid that if Meet Fresh is granted this very late night extension of their hours, the other restaurants at Main Street - many of which serve alcohol -will demand the same. The disturbance late at night is already bad; extending hours even later (and potentially adding alcohol to the mix) would be disastrous for hundreds of hard-working individuals and families who live in this area. I am sure our neighbors at the nineteen00 complex - as well as the future residents in the apartments Sand Hill plans to open later this year at Main Street - would agree.\ Please do not approve this application to extend the hours of operation for Meet Fresh!'I'ea Chansii.
