MINUTES
Chair Stanek called the meeting to order at 9:40 a.m. at Creekside Park, 10455 Miller
A venue, Cupertino, CA.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners present: Carol Stanek, David Fung, Neesha Tambe, Judy Wilson,
Helene Davis
Commissioners absent: None
Staff present: Christine Hanel, Liz Nunez, Molly James
Council present: Vice Mayor, Savita Vaidhyanathan
FIELD TRIP TO MAGICAL BRIDGE PLAYGROUND, PALO ALTO AND SAN JOSE
ROT ARY PLAY GARDEN
The Parks & Recreation Commissioners, staff, guests and Vice Mayor, Savita Vaidhyanathan
proceeded by bus to the Magical Bridge playground at Mitchell Park in Palo Alto and met by
Olenka Villarreal , Founder, Magical Bridge playground and Magical Bridge Foundation who
conducted tour. Ms . Villan-eal presented background of how park was developed, conducted tour
and answered questions. Discussion followed.
The next tour was to the San Jose Rotary Play Garden where everyone was met by Leslee
Hamilton , Executive Director for Guadalupe River Park Conservancy, who presented
background of how park was developed, conducted tour and answered questions. Discussion
followed. When tour ended, bus returned everyone to Creekside Park, Cupertino.
ADJOURNMENT-Chair Stanek adjourned the meeting at 1:25 p.m. at Creekside Park.
