MINUTES FOR REGULAR MEETING OF
THE CUPERTINO BICYLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE

ROLL CALL
Committee member Bernie Album, Doug Herrick, David Greenstein, Fred Holmes, Chris Klein,
Anne Ng, and Joseph Walton were present. Staff: Raymond Chong. Guests: Phil Underwood,
Kevin Jackson, and Michelle DeRobertis.
1. Minutes: January 10,2000 regular meeting.
Motion by Walton, second by Holmes, minutes approved.

OLD BUSINESS -
2. Annual Goals and Objectives of Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
Committee discussed the annual goals and objectives for 2000. They discussed:
Pedestrian Transportation Plan, Bicycle Transportation, Bike-To-Work Week, Mary
Avenue Bicycle Foot Bridge, Union Pacific Railroad Trail, and Stevens Creek
Recreational Trail. Chair Herrick to write letter to City Council.
3. Subcommittee Reports
a. Pedestrian Transportation Plan
DeRobertis of Wilbur Smith Associates presented the draft Plan for review and comment.
She discussed several focus areas for study.
b. Union Pacific Railroad Trail
Ng reported on status on resolutions and letters on support of the Trail from the various
of cities. County Parks Commission is interested in establishing a task force.
c. Mary Avenue Bicycle Foot Bridge
Album discussed strategy meeting on February 17 with Jana Sokale, consultant.
d. Stevens Creek Recreational Trail
The Trail is one of the annual goals.
e. Cycle Commute Cupertino.
The project is one the annual goals. Walton and Ng are considering posters.
f. Bicycle Transportation
It is one of the annual goals.

Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority Reports
a. Bicycle Advisory Committee
Walton made his report.
b. Valley Transportation Plan 2020 - Bicycle Element
Walton made his report on project priorities in the County.
5.
Capital Improvement Projects & Neighborhood Traffic Calming Measures.
Chong presented an update.
NEW BUSINESS
6.
Budget 2000-01
Committee discussed various programs and projects for funding in next fiscal year 2000-
2001. Chair Herrick to write a letter to City Council.
7.
Bikes Belong Grants
Tabled for next meeting.
8.
Recreational Trails Immunity
Tabled for next meeting.
