Kevin: Homestead and Rt 85 accident mentioned at Sunnyvale BAC. No resolution yet.
Doug: Doug's friend will file against both county and city.
Kevin: David Simons thought VT A misquoted Borregas overpass project as being the "Mary overpass"
project. Project voting might be skewed.
Joe: Has VTA documents to show there was no confusion for voting.

OLD BUSINESS
Annual Goals and Objectives of Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee
Committee reviewed the goals and objectives sheet handed out by Ray. No discussion.
Budget
Item #8 Foothill: Doug specified north-bound Foothill ramp onto south Rt 280 is problem section. Joe
will contact Ed Speck about this.
Item #1 Signs: Doug says City Council has approved already.
Item #2 CCC: Joe mentioned $5K request for graphic design. Joe, Anne, and David will meet for
planning session.
Item #4 Mary Bridge: Error on Ray's sheet. $95K should be $5K, and that money is for initial
planning.
Item #3 PedlBike Safety: Includes SafeMoves program.
Item #5 UP Trail: Contingent upon county creating task force. Moving slowly at county level.
Item #6 Traffic Calming: Ray says plans for roundabouts at several intersections. $250K budget may
increase to $700K.

Pedestrian Transportation Plan: Doug is taking input and will incorporate changes.
Bicycle Transportation: Ray thinks most important is bike destination signs. Doug has a short list
of destinations. Joe mentioned several county-wide destinations in Cupertino. Subcommittee
(Album, Holmes, Klein, Walton) will hold a workshop to choose destinations on April 3,
10:30am.
Cycle Commute Cupertino: Press release to SJ Mercury to be done by David. Anne assigned bike
shops to members. CCC committee will meet March 20, 2pm.
Mary Avenue Bicycle Foot Bridge: David mentioned a Mary resident had three reasons not to
build the bridge. Doug found three Mary residents that are for the bridge. Bernie suggested
getting home appraisals to factor in new pedlbike bridge. No decision on appraisal. Next
committee meeting is April 3.
Union Pacific Railroad Trail: Anne said next meeting was March 22, 2pm at Vasona County
Park. Ray has difficulty getting city resolutions for trail.
Stevens Creek Recreational Trail: No news.

Santa Clara Transportation Authority Reports
a. Bicycle Advisory Committee: Joe mentioned Cupertino's Mary bridge project got highest marks
in VTA vote over all other projects in the county.
b. Valley Transportation Plan 2020 - Bicycle Element: No discussion.
Capital Improvements Projects & Neighborhood Traffic Calming Measures Reports
Ray says Stevens Canyon Road improvements will happen by October: road widening and
retaining walls. Price A venue traffic calming delayed due to heavy rain. Traffic calming will be
implemented for streets behind the new Home Depot.
NEW BUSINESS
Bikes Belong Grants
Ray recommended to apply for the $l OK grant for physical improvements.
Recreational Trails Immunity
Doug is concerned that LA court case will hurt funding of UP Trail. The case limits the liability
of cities, so there might be some push back for the use of transportation money. The committed
agreed to put "maintenance" as part of the UP Trail plan to counter that perception.
