MINUTES
ATTENDANCE
Chair Greenstein called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. In addition to Chair Greenstein, the
following Committee members were present: Herrick, Ng, and Stem. The following Committee
members were absent: Walton. Two Committee vacancies. Staff present: Chong. Public
present: Stuart Chessen.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - January 18, 2001
Motion by Herrick, second by Stern, the Committee approved the minutes.

CONSENT CALENDAR

OLD BUSINESS
2. Subcommittee Reports
a. Pedestrian Transportation Plan - Dates: April 19 - Final draft for review and comment.
May 17 - BP AC recommendation for approval. June 18 - City Council approval.
b. Bicycle Transportation Plan - No report.
c. Cycle Commute Cupertino - Walton, Ng and Herrick met to discuss strategies. Banner
across Stevens Creek Boulevard.
d. Mary Avenue Bicycle Footbridge - Herrick will serve on the interview panel for feasibility
study consultant selection on February 22. City Council action on agreement is on March
19.
e. Union Pacific Railroad Trail- Chong reported that local agencies are approving the
Memorandum of Understanding. Alta Transportation Consulting was selected to conduct
the feasibility study. City Council action on agreement is on March 5. Stakeholders
forum will be on March 1 in Cupertino.
f. Stevens Creek Trail- Greenstein gave an update on the task force on feasibility study.
Community outreach is important.
g. Regnart Creek Trail- Herrick will walk the Trail with staff.
3. Santa Clara Vallev Transportation Authority Report
a. Bicycle Advisory Committee - None.
4. Capital Improvements Proiects and Neiehborhood Traffic Calmine Measures Status
Report
Chong presented his report.
5. Bikes Belone Coalition Grant
Staff is completing the grant application and proposal at the next meeting.
6. Year 2001 Goals and Obiectives
Chair Greenstein asked for a review of2001 goals and objectives that will have results.
7. Cupertino Destinations Map
Staffhas a concern about the sign.

8. Bicvcle Promotion Proeram
Chair Greenstein presented his thoughts about promoting bicycling in the community.
Other Business
Klein has resigned from the Committee.
Chessen described his background and interests in bicycling and walking.

There being no further business or public comment, Chair Greenstein adjourned the meeting at
8:45 p.m., the next Committee meetin will be on Thursday, March 15, 2001, in Cupertino,
California.
