Regular Meeting
January 26, 1999

CALL TO ORDER
At 7:41 p.m., Rita Young called the meeting to order in Conference Room A and
led the pledge of allegiance.

ROLLCALL
Present: Chairperson Rita Young, Commissioners Stephen Beard, Janet Mohr,
Carl Off, Charlene Pai, Mary Sievert.
Absent: Hema Kundargi
City staff present: City Clerk Kimberly Smith and Recording Secretary Dorothy
Steenfott.
4.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Off moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of November 24, 1998.
Sievert seconded and motion passed unanimously with Kundargi absent.
5.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Young opened the floor for nominations. Sievert moved to confirm Mohr as chair
and Pai as vice chair. Beard seconded and motion passed unanimously with
Kundargi absent.
6.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
City Clerk reported on a letter from Shakespeare stating that Robert Glavin is
resigning from his position as executive director. Charlie McCue will be serving
as interium executive director until a replacement is found. She also reported on
the Shakespeare festival newsletter.

STAFF REPORTS
City Clerk updated the commission on the budget status.

COMMISSIONER AND LIAISON REPORTS
A.
Review of committee roster. Beard requested that the City Center owner
participating in the Four Seasons Coner ad hoc committee be added to the
roster.
Mohr or Sievert will attend the next mayor's breakfast.
Off reported on the mayor's breakfast. He stated that the mayor really
liked the events banner and requested that it be used for the musical
performances presented by the Parks and Recreation Department. City
Clerk stated that she spoke to the Parks and Recreation director about
using the banner created by the Fine Arts Commission.
ADJOURNMENT
At 9:15 p.m. the meeting was adjourned to Tuesday, February 23,7:00 p.m. in
Conference Room A, 10300 Torre Avenue, Cupertino.
