CALL TO ORDER
Chair Stanek called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Hall
Council Chamber, 10350 Torre Ave., Cupertino, CA.

Commissioners absent: None

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Noel Eberhardt, Cupertino resident, spoke regarding athletic fields usage on
Sundays.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Regular meeting of March 3, 2016
Chair Stanek requested correction in her comment to item number 5-Stevens
Creek Corridor Master Plan update. Commissioner Fung moved to approve
the amended minutes of March 3, 2016. Commissioner Davis seconded and
motion passed unanimously .
STAFF AND COMMISSION REPORTS
Director of Recreation and Community Services, Carol Atwood reviewed the
March and April events:

D Closed session held 3/1 to discuss next steps for Lawrence Mitty
Linear park project
D MIG presented to PRC on 3/3 for Stevens Creek Blvd. Corridor
Master Plan.
D Senior Center Volunteer recognition event help 3/19
D Big Bunny Fun Run held 3/26
D First Intercept at Big Bunny Run event for the City Wide Park Open
Space Master Plan

D Study Session held 4/5 for the Stevens Creek Blvd. Corridor
Master Plan

Department re-organization update-promoted three coordinators to
supervisor positions: Dave Jahns, Rachelle Sander and Kim Frey
Commission Reports:
Commissioner Wilson helped at intercept event at the Big Bunny Fun
Run and attended the Volunteer recognition event at the Senior Center.
Commissioner Fung attended the recognition event at the Senior Center
and helped at intercept event at the Big Bunny Fun Run.
Commissioner Davis walked the Big Bunny Fun Run and helped at the
intercept event. Attended the Stevens Creek Corridor Master Plan
Council study session and the Mayor's meeting.
Chair Stanek helped at intercept event at the Big Bunny Fun Run and
attended the Stevens Creek Corridor Master Plan Council study
session.
NEW BUSINESS

OLD BUSINESS
2. City Wide Park Open Space Master Plan Update
Barbara Lundburg, Principal for RHAA, presented project status per
attached. Discussion followed. Community meetings to be scheduled in May
and June.
3. 2015-16 Work Plan
Carol Atwood discussed changes to current plan. Adult Learn to Swim pilot
program will be launched in 2017 . Discussion in process regarding agreement
with Prometheus complex management.

May -CIP will be presented by Public Works, Katy Jensen and Director
Timm Borden. Wendell Stevens from Rotary will present their proposal for
the Stocklmeir property.
June -Update regarding Perfect Mind software system; International movie
pilot-Current discussions with Library to use their area at the Civic Center.
Marketing event: Parks Make Life Better -discussed ideas with Colleen Ferris
at Sports Center and Gayathri at Library to involve teens.
July -May not have meeting
August -Plan to discuss Work Plan for upcoming fiscal year
ADJOURNMENT -Chair Stanek adjourned the meeting at 7:54p.m.
