STEVENS CREEK BLVD ENTRY
PARK ENTRY: A green gateway reflects the park’s identity and character,
celebrates the creek, and presents the golf course to visitors. The entry
contains large shade trees, planting areas, identity and wayfinding signage,
and provides visual access to the creek. Trees and potentially a low wall are
provided along Stevens Creek Blvd. The former residence at 22050 Stevens
Creek Blvd is removed.
TANK HOUSE: The exterior of the Nathan Hall Tank House is restored with
interpretive signage.
TRAILHEAD: A small trailhead feature is installed with possible elements
such as visitor’s information, trail maps, interpretation about Stevens Creek,
park offerings, natural/cultural history information, benches, and a possible
drinking fountain.
STEVENS CREEK: The north side of the creek is repaired and restored for bank
stability and habitat health.
PARKING, CIRCULATION, AND ACCESS: A short entrance driveway leads
visitors to a parking lot to the east, a parking lot to the west, and a drop-
Overall, this site design plan recommends that the
golf course and the pool complex stay generally
the same size as their existing footprints, with
improvements and new facilities for each of these
areas. Additionally, there is an enhanced entrance
at San Fernando Ave; agricultural use at Stocklmeir
Ranch with a focus on education, history, and
sustainability; flexible open space for community
gatherings and events, and additional habitat
enhancements and creek restoration areas. Site
amenities such as restrooms, bike parking, picnic
tables, benches, and waste/recycling receptacles
will be provided as appropriate.
off point that serves golfers, the restaurant, and the pro shop. The west
parking area serves trail users and visitors to the Stocklmeir Ranch and the
east parking area serves the Clubhouse/Restaurant and golf course. Electric
vehicle charging stations may be included with these parking renovations.
Both parking areas are designed to be creekside-appropriate (note: existing
asphalt at existing golf course parking lot may remain or may be renovated).
The school bus loading/unloading area remains in its current location on
Stevens Creek Blvd just north of the eastern parking area.
A pedestrian and light vehicular bridge spans Stevens Creek to bring visitors
from the east side to Stocklmeir Ranch and the park’s trails. Vehicle use
across the bridge is intended for maintenance vehicles, emergency /public
safety purposes, or other special needs. The bridge is built as far north as
possible to support the health of the creek, while also serving the golf course
circulation needs, clubhouse access, and access to Stocklmeir Ranch. A new
traffic signal is possible at the intersection of Phar Lap Drive and Stevens
Creek Boulevard, and a new pedestrian underpass is possible across Stevens
Creek Boulevard.

STOCKLMEIR RANCH
STOCKLMEIR RANCH/FUTURE LEGACY FARM: The garage, outbuildings, and
surrounding areas are maintained as storage spaces; staging and possible
display spaces for historic and contemporary farm and maintenance
equipment; legacy farm educational use; operations and maintenance
functions and equipment; and a restroom. The plan allows for the possibility
of restoring the existing patio space, the former, ornamental ponds, and the
flower/vegetable gardens. Fruits, vegetables, herbs, and a possible bee hive
yard are established and maintained as a part of this site’s program.
STOCKLMEIR HOUSE: The existing house is retained. The house’s exterior
is restored and the surrounding patio and yard space are upgraded and
enhanced so that the house and grounds can be used for small events and
meetings. If there is support for an interior renovation, then the inside of the
house will be renovated for safety and compliance with current standards.
PEDESTRIAN, BIKE, AND VEHICULAR CIRCULATION: The existing multi-use
trail traverses the ranch from north to south and is accessible from three
points: Stevens Creek Blvd, a proposed bridge at the north end of the site,
and the existing bike/pedestrian bridge to the south. Ranch visitors park in
the main entrance lot on the east side of the creek and walk over the bridge,
which serves pedestrians, bikes, maintenance vehicles, and may serve
vehicles needing ADA or special access. A small area that can accommodate
parking is provided near the residence and garage buildings for operational
and maintenance needs.

3 BLACKBERRY FARM GOLF COURSE
PAR 3 9-HOLE GOLF COURSE: A newly
configured 9-hole golf course designed
for wildlife sensitivity and with a water-
conscious maintenance plan. Amenities
include a par 3 course, a putting area and
nature-themed putting course, a teaching/
short game practice area, driving bays that
may include state of the art electronics,
lockers, golf carts, and a new clubhouse
with a restaurant and pro shop. A FootGolf
course is overlaid onto the 9-hole golf
course to make Blackberry Farm golfing
more versatile and accessible, and to help
grow interest in golf.
CLUBHOUSE / RESTAURANT / PRO SHOP:
A newly constructed Clubhouse provides
golfers and the local community with a
family-friendly restaurant and large group
special event venue that accommodates
approximately 300 total guests: envisioned
as 200-250 people indoors and additional
seating on an outdoor deck, which overlooks
the golf course and the creek. The new
Clubhouse has lockers and a Pro Shop with
amenities that make it an attractive and
inviting destination for golfers and visitors.
GOLF MAINTENANCE BUILDING: The
existing building at the south end of the golf
course is used for storage and maintenance
of golf vehicles and equipment. The existing
building’s restrooms remain available for
golf use.
ENHANCED UTILITIES: A strategic
enhancement and refinement of the site’s
utility systems, including a new efficient
irrigation system, is recommended.
HABITAT AREA AT FORMER PONDS:
Lowland native areas that serve as
biofiltration basins are designed to capture
stormwater runoff and increase habitat
complexity.
NATURALIZED AREAS: Areas between tees
and greens will be planted as naturalized
areas rather than all turf.
PARKING, CIRCULATION, AND ACCESS:
Vehicle parking is provided at the Stevens
Creek Blvd Entrance and access is extended
to the new clubhouse/restaurant.

SAN FERNANDO ENTRANCE
PARK ENTRY: The east side entrance into the park provides access to the
Blackberry Farm pool complex, the westside group picnic area, the Captain
Stephens play area, the sports courts area, and Stevens Creek Trail. For
improved pedestrian safety, the road will either be widened to build a
walkway that is supported by a retaining wall or other structure, or will be
improved with a separate boardwalk that generally parallels the existing
roadway on the golf course side.
BLACKBERRY FARM PARK OFFICE BUILDING: The existing building provides
offices and meeting space for recreation staff, park rangers, and park
operations functions.
PARKING, CIRCULATION, AND ACCESS: The entrance road leads to a large
parking lot, which serves visitors to the pool complex, the picnic area, the
children’s play area, the sports courts, and the multi-use trail. Charging
stations may be added for electric vehicles.

BLACKBERRY FARM PARK AND POOL
POOL COMPLEX: The existing pool complex remains in the same general
footprint and continues to be a fun and family-friendly destination. The
shallow end of the existing rectangular pool is made deeper to allow for more
extensive lap swimming and a lap lane delineation is added. The existing slide
is removed, and a splash pad is added. The C-shaped pool may be filled with
warm water or otherwise modified to function as a therapy/multi-use pool,
or could be replaced by an expanded splash pad area. ADA improvements
are made to the entire complex to make it more universally accessible. The
existing open lawn area, cafe, and outdoor eating areas remain, though the
fence line may be reconfigured for the splash pad and/or for expansion of
the turf area.
CAPTAIN STEPHENS PLAY AREA: The existing play area remains in its current
location and will either be enhanced with an added nature-based play area
if it is desired in the future, or may be replaced by natural play when the
play structure reaches the end of its use life. If the structure is replaced, the
donor tiles will be preserved and an acknowledgement of the community’s
participation will be commemorated.
PARKING, CIRCULATION, AND ACCESS: Parking is provided at the large lot
that is shared by the pool complex, the picnic area, the play area, and the
sports court area.

11 McCLELLAN RANCH PRESERVE
MEADOW: Restored meadow habitat areas are established on the north
and west sides of the site and many opportunities for wildlife viewing and
environmental education exist in this part of the park.
BARN: The existing barn is renovated for history, nature, ranch/agriculture,
and science-based interpretive programming, and includes an indoor space
for educational and summer programs. The existing opportunity for owl
nesting will be maintained.
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER AREA: The central gathering areas
surrounding the Environmental Education Center and adjacent to the other
buildings are retained an operated to support outdoor and environmental
education, historical and cultural learning, group visits, teaching, and events.
COMMUNITY GARDEN: The existing community garden area is improved
to include upgraded irrigation, a vegetable/hand washing station, and new
fencing.
4-H FACILITIES: The existing 4-H area remains and may be improved within
the existing footprint to support current or expanded programming.
CREEK ACCESS: The existing pedestrian creek access point is improved and a
new one is added near the south end of the site to create two safe and easy
access areas that support the creek studies program.
PARKING, CIRCULATION, AND ACCESS: The small, existing parking area
is improved with new surfacing. The existing bridge crossing provides
pedestrian access between McClellan Ranch Preserve and McClellan Ranch
West. Additional parking is provided at McClellan Ranch West. The access
would be designed to preserve healthy creek features, minimize impervious
and hard-surface paving as well as the pathway footprint, and maintain
habitat value.

McCLELLAN RANCH WEST
NATIVE PLANTING AREA: The Simms house was recently removed and the
area can be restored. Site-appropriate native species will be planted along the
creek to improve habitat value and aesthetics of the area. The opportunity to
remove concrete rubble on the west bank will be investigated (as consistent
with preserving existing healthy trees and habitat).
PARKING, CIRCULATION, AND ACCESS: A new parking area is designed as a
creek-sensitive, meadow-style, or pervious parking lot with trees integrated
into the design where suitable. Parking is envisioned toward the west side of
the site and along the toe of the existing slope to increase the distance from
the creek and provide space for a riparian greenbelt. The northern portion
of the parking area may be designed as a greener area for more infrequent
use using planted, “parkable” space or another appropriate solution that
emphasizes the reduced use of hard paving. Electric vehicle charging
stations may be included. If a traffic engineering analysis deems it feasible,
the vehicular parking lot access will be moved west to the intersection with
Clubhouse Lane. A path along the west side of the creek and the existing
pedestrian bridge crossing allow access into McClellan Ranch Preserve.
