PUBLIC HEARING
1. CITY OF CUPER'l'INO: PUBLIC HEARING to consider a Specific Plan for properties located on both sides of Stev~ns Creek Boulevard between Stelling Road on the west, an<l Stern Avnue on the east. 'rhe primary function of the Specific Plan is to incorporate existing General Plan land use and circulation policies into a single document. The Plan also incorporates detailed urban design policies¥ ·F.NVIRON~IENTAL REVIEW: The Environmental Review Comnittee detennined that the project impacts were previously assessed as part of the Envirormental Impact Report. for General Plal'l Amendment l-GPA-80.. First Hearing Continued. Tentative City Council hearinq date -December 5, 1983.

Assistant Planning Director Cowan explained to Comnission that the artwork for the sketch would be done by Prcrnetheus.
Discussion ensued between staff and Ccmnission regarding cha09es in the plan.
It was moved by can. Claudy, secor¥.'led by can.. 1\dams and passed unanimously to close the public hearing~
It was moved by Com. Claudy, secorx'led by Corn. Adams and passed with a 5-0 vote to recamiend adoption of the Stevens Creek BOulevard Specific Plan.
It W3S moved by can. Claudy, seconded by Com. Koenitzer and passed unanimously to amend the motion to state that the Envirorrnental Impact Report provided with the General Plan .Amendment l-GPA-80 would suffice for th:e project.

REPORT OF THE PLANNI.t1CI DIRECTOR
Assistant Planning Director Cow&n questioned Commission &3 to
wh~ther they would like a bioyole lane atudy included in the forthcoming General Plan .Amend11umt study.
Com. Adams stated that as long as ttJe ar-terial bike lane~ weJ>E1 inoluded the plan was aooeptable as present.ed and there would be no need to add th~ study to the General Plan Amendment.
It was moved by Com. Claudy, seconded by Com. Koenitzer to send a minute order to the Public Safety Commission to pay attention to the need for bike lanes a~ the City develops.
Chairperson Blaine requested a r11port on the, Council actions regarding the West Cupertino Traffic Task f'oroe plan.
Charles Newman, addressed the Commission presenting a detailed report of the last City Council meeting and actions taken on the traffic plan. He went on to address the current status of the 85 corridor and future plans.
Com. Koenitzer commented that regarding Application 7-U-83, information should be ~athered regarding the poss.iblity of other horses in the area causing the problems.
Assistant Planning Director Cowan stated to Co1nmission that it would be investigated.
Com. Szabo questioned the City services zoning of the County which Director of Planning and Development Sisk was to report on.
Assistant Planning Director Cowan eRplained to the Commission that the County _Board of Supervisors are considering some General Plan Amendments that could have significant effects on the City of Cupertino.
