A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
ENDORSING THE 2015-20 COMMUNITY PLAN TO END HOMELESSNESS IN
SANTA CLARA COUNTY
WHEREAS, homelessness continues to be a pressing issue within Santa Clara County;
and
WHEREAS, Destination Home (DH) is a public-private partnership and serves as the
backbone organization for collective impact strategies to reduce homelessness in Santa Clara
County; and
WHEREAS, to respond to homelessness issues within Santa Clara County, DH and it's
partners have been working towards a comprehensive, regional response and plan to end
homelessness which includes the recently published 2015-20 Community Plan to End
Homelessness in Santa Clara County; and
WHEREAS, the Housing Commission of the City of Cupertino's endorsement of the
2015-20 Community Plan to End Homelessness in Santa Clara County would continue to
advance the goal of supporting regional strategies in collaboration with other jurisdictions and
agencies to end and prevent homelessness by creating permanent housing solutions; and
WHEREAS, the 2015-20 Community Plan to End Homelessness in Santa Clara County
focuses on developing housing opportunities for homeless persons and families which aligns
with the City's adopted 2014-22 General Plan Housing Element goals to 1) provide adequate
housing for groups with special needs and 2) maintain a range of housing types for all age
groups; and
WHEREAS, the Housing Commission's endorsement of the 2015-20 Community Plan to
End Homelessness in Santa Clara County does not commit the City of Cupertino to any one
component of the plan; and
WHEREAS, the consideration by the Housing Commission of the adoption of this
Resolution has been duly noticed pursuant to applicable laws and has been placed upon the
Housing Commission Meeting Agenda on the date set forth in the Staff Report, and on such
date the Housing Commission conducted a duly noticed public meeting at which meeting the
Housing Commission provided members of the public and opportunity to comment and be
heard and considered any and all testimony and other evidence provided in connection with
the adoption of this Resolution; and
WHERAS, the activities allowed under this Resolution do not constitute a project under
the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act of 1979; and

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Housing Commission of the City of Cupertino
endorses the 2015-20 Community Plan to end Homelessness in Santa Clara County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of October 2015, at a Regular Meeting of the Housing
Commission of the City of Cupertino by the following roll call vote:
