MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
A) February 25, 2015 —Commissioner Sriraman motions to approve minutes. Commissioner
Murphy seconds motion. Motion passes unanimously.
COMMUNICATIONS
a) Oral
- Sandra James spoke about the upcoming development project at Vallco. Provided
commissioners with online link to provide input and encouraged them to take part in
the planning and community feedback process in the future.
- Lisa Warren spoke about current community input process that is taking place for the
General Plan Amendment. Presented the notion that increased building heights will
increase residency in the city and may additionally increase traffic congestion in and
around the school sites. Encouraged the commissioners to participate at the City
Council meeting on April 21.
- Peggy Griffin provided commissioners with a packet of images of views around the
city. Presented information on how increased building heights may hinder the view
of the surrounding ridgelines. Provided examples of current building heights and the
effects that changes to height limitations may have on sight lines. Encouraged
commissioners to discuss what they would like the future of Cupertino to look like
and participate in the City Council meeting on April 21.

NEW BUSINESS
a) Commissioner contacts in the community
- Commissioner Murphy attended the Mayor's monthly commissioner meeting on
March 4th
- Commissioners Murphy, Sriraman, and Yun met with members of the planning
department to discuss the City's proposal for the General Plan Amendment
regarding height restrictions, land uses, and community benefits. Commissioners
provided oral report and encouraged commissioners to participate in the April 21
City Council meeting.
b) Teen Center: Event proposals and location
- Sara Ye and her colleague presented the idea of a teen clothing swap and
introduced their company, "The Swap Shopper". Requested use of the Teen Center
for a swapping event this spring. Commissioners recommended Recreation staff
look into the possibility of bringing an event to the Teen Center.
- Commissioners brainstormed potential locations for a new Teen facility.
Commissioners recommended that Recreation staff investigate the possibility of
utilizing vacant retail space at Main Street or the new Vallco facility.
c) Y.A.C. Social debrief—Commissioner Sriraman provide oral report on events that took
place at March 6th event.
d) Commissioners Dinner: April 2, 2015
OLD BUSINESS
a) Walk-One-Week: Participation update and marketing plan—Commissioner Trivedi
provided update on status of grant applications and communication with the schools.
Commissioner Chan will attend Public Safety Commission meeting on March 12 to
present school grant applications.
b) Intergenerational event: Food options and dress rehearsal — Food options discussed.
Dress rehearsal will be scheduled with Senior Center staff. Staff Liaison Jahns will
confirm rehearsal date at the March 25th Teen Commission meeting.
c) Ted Talks Forum: Facility and speakers update—Commissioner Murphy and Yun will
confirm availability of Monta Vista High School Theater prior to March 25th Teen
Commission Meeting. Commissioner Murphy provided list of interested speakers.

At 8:51 pm the Teen Commission adjourned to a REGULAR MEETING on Wednesday, March 25,
2015 at 6:30 pm at Cupertino Teen Center, 21111 Stevens Creek Boulevard, Cupertino.
