The Planning Commission drove to Vintage Oaks Development, off Middlefield Road in Menlo Park; Woodhill Estates in Redwood City; Portola Valley Ranch, off Alpine Road in Portola Valley; and an 8 lot subdivision in Saratoga on Fmitvale Avenue. The Planning Commission visited the Vintage Oaks sales office model home and walked down one of the streets where many of the houses in the development have been built. These homes are currently being developed by the O'Brien Group. This development contains housing types similar to those to be proposed by the O'Brien Group for the Diocese property. The Planning Commission drove through Woodhill Estates. This is an established development which the O'Brien Group requested be visited, since it is similar in terrain and housing type to the Diocese project. The Planning Commission drove through Portola Valley Ranch. An established development, this is an example of hillside clustering, use of natural materials and landscaping and homogeneous architecture. The Planning Commission drove through the Kerwin Ranch Development, Fruitvale Avenue, in Saratoga. The City of Saratoga required single story residences, not to exceed 22'. The Planning Commission returned to Cupertino at 12:00 noon. Respectfully Submitted, City Planner g:/planning/pcminute/5-17-97
