MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN COMMISSION
January 21St, 2015

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Commissioner Pete Heller commended David Stillman on the green bike lane markers
on De Anza Boulevard near the 280 entrance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
3) The Commission approved the November 6th, 2014 minutes unanimously.
4) The Commission approved the December 8th, 2014 minutes unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
5) Bicycle Transportation Plan Update
The updated Bike Plan was reviewed and prioritized. The plan will also include
Union Pacific Trail, Stevens Creek Trail and San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail;
however, these are funded separately.
Council is expected to approve $95K in March 2015 mid-year budget for bike
path improvements. This will be used to fund parts of item #13 (Green bike lanes
at McClellan and Bubb Road by Monta Vista High School) and #18 (Green bike
lane and sharrows on Finch Avenue (by Cupertino High School) on the bike
plan.
Staff plans to seek additional funding in the new fiscal year to implement the
new bike plan in phases.
Action: Approved updated Bike Plan as presented by staff. Priority 1 items
(excluding #1 and #10B) on the Bike Plan should be completed within 12 months
and the rest within 24 months from the start of the new fiscal year in 2015.

NEW BUSINESS
6) Election of Commission Chair and Vice-Chair
Action: Commissioner Pete Heller was voted to be the next Chair of the Bicycle
Pedestrian Commission. Commissioner Vidula Aiyer was voted to be the Vice-
Chair of the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission.
