MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN COMMISSION
September 17th, 2014
CUPERTINO
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Vidula Aiyer, William Chan, Pete Heller, Sean Lyn, Jill Mitsch
Staff. David Stillman
Others Present: Bob Cascone (Public Safety Commission), Herman Wadler, Larry Dean
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Herman Wadler is the Chair of the Campbell Bicycle and Pedestrian Commission. He attended
the meeting to address concerns about biking on De Anza Blvd. Larry Dean is a Cupertino
resident and attended the meeting, because he is interested in the progress made on the current
bicycle plan.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
ORDERS OF THE DAY
1) Staff Report (Stillman)
Mr. Stillman updated the Commission on the bike lanes on Torre Ave. and the progress
made on Stevens Creek Blvd.
2) Receive VTA BPAC Report(Wiant)
Jim Wiant did not attend the meeting and there was no VTA BPAC report.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
3) The Commission approved the August 20th, 2014 minutes. All in favor.
OLD BUSINESS
4) Bike Rodeo Planning
Commissioner Heller worked with Safe Moves to organize the October 4th Bike Rodeo.
The Mayor will give a welcoming speech. Commissioners will email Mr. Stillman with
their availability for the bicycle blender booth.
5) Bicycle Transportation Plan Update
The Commission continued to review the bikeway plan in detail. The Commmission will
discuss ideas for new bikeways at the October meeting.
