MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN COMMISSION
.August 20th, 2014

The meeting was,called to order at 7:10 p.m.

ORDERS OF THE DAY
1) Staff Report (Stillman)
The bike lane on Torre Ave. between Stevens Creek Blvd. and Rodrigues Ave. has been
implemented by the City. Bike detectors., which are cameras with image recognition, are
all placed and funded by Apple.
2) Received VTA BPAC Report (Wiant)
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
3) The Commission approved the July 16t", 2014 minutes. All in favor.
OLD BUSINESS
4) Bike Rodeo Planning
The Bike Rodeo is scheduled for October. 01, 2014 at the parking lot in front of City Hall.
It will be managed by Safe Moves and focus on elementary and middle school children.
Mr. Stillman confinned a fire truck and Sheriff.will attend. City Hall will be open for
restroom access. Flyers will be available by the next meeting as well as the electronic
version.
5) Bicycle Transportation Plan Update
The Commission reviewed the bikeway plan in detail. The priorities include a) safety, b)
school areas, c) areas with rapid population growth, d) recreation attraction, etc. The
discussion is carried with three present commissioners as well as Commissioner Chan's
comments sent by email. The review is in progress and will be continued to the next
meeting.
