offered further suggestions. The City Clerk will incorporate all of those and provide the
commission with a second draft at the September meeting. The commissioners also asked
to see a copy of the contract with the artist Roger Berry, to confirm that copyright and other
issues had been addressed.
The commissioners asked that the next agenda also include discussion of creating a public
art catalogue and development of a walking tour to include DeAnza College, the Senior
Center, and the public art throughout the city.
Art and Wine Festival of July 19-20.
· Analysis of outreach and ideas for next time
The commissioners shared their experiences from the event, and agreed that it was a great
public outreach opportunity, and they wished to participate again in 2004. Carl Orr noted
that there was a very positive response to the "Perspectives" maquette from a
representative of the Verona Apartments, who was collecting information for future
residents.
Comments regarding plans for next year included:
· A large "Fine Arts Commission" sign on the booth is needed because there were too
many city logos around, so the banner alone was not sufficient.
· Paperweights needed.
· "Party favors" (colorful necklaces) were a good draw for children, who brought over
their parents.
· If the weather is very hot, consider spray bottles/portable battery fans.
· 400 flyers each will be sufficient.
· Consider gift bags because people didn't want to take too many flyers.
