MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN COMMISSION
April 16th, 2014
CUPERTINO
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m..

ORDERS OF THE DAY
1) Received VTA BPAC Report (Wiant)
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
2) The Commission approved the February 19"', 2014 minutes. All in favor.
NEW BUSINESS
.3) Council Presentation Preparation and Discussion
The presentation is scheduled for May 6t" at the City Council meeting. Commissioner
Chan will present the accomplishments and activities of the commission (Bike to Work
Day, September 2013 Bike Rodeo Event, Walk/Bike to School Survey, Crossing Guard
Study, and Bike Plan Progress). It is recommended that the other commissioners attend
the meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
4) Survey Development
Mr. Stillman will provide a list of schools to the Cupertino Union School District (CUSD)
contact who will reach out to principals about including a survey request in their next
newsletter. Mr. Stillman will also work with Toby Smith to put the survey online via
SurveyMonkey. Most CUSD schools will be included in the survey.
Mr. Cascone informed the commission that the Public Safety Commission has approved
funding to support a "week of walk to school" effort, which will cover ten Cupertino
schools. The results of the campaign will tie shared with the Bicycle Pedestrian
Commission.
5) Bike to Work Day
Commissioner Mitsch is leading the preparations for a station near Quinlan Community
Center. Mr. Stillman will work on getting supporting materials such as tables, chairs, etc.
on the day of Volunteer support will be:requested from the current and former
commissioners.
