BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN COMMISSION
May 21St, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioners Vidula Aiyer, William Chan, Pete Heller, Jill Mitsch
Staff. David Stillman
Others Present: Bob Cascone (Public Safety Commission), Jim Wiant (VTA liaison)
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Commissioner Aiyer gave an update on the Commissioners' Mayor Meeting. Commissioner
Chan attended the Civic Center Planning Meeting. Commissioner Chan informed the
Commission about the Lincoln Elementary School Bike Rodeo on May 31St
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
ORDERS OF THE DAY
1) Received VTA BPAC Report (Wiant)
2) Staff Report from Mr. Stillman
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
3) The Commission approved the April 16th, x1014 minutes with corrections. All in favor.
NEW BUSINESS
4) Bike Rodeo
The City Council approved a$3k budget for Bike Rodeo. Commissioner Heller will
contact Alan Takahashi for De Anza College contact. Commission discussed possible
locations and dates in September for Bike Rodeo.
OLD BUSINESS
5) School Commute Survey Results
Mr. Stillman presented results of the School Commute Survey.
6) Bike to Work Day Debrief
Commissioner Mitsch presented report on Bike to Work Day. 191 cyclists rode past
without stopping at Energizer Station at Quinlan Community Center. 97 stopped at the
station. 23 cyclists were Cupertino residentLs. The average round trip distance of cyclist
was 25 miles.
7) Council Presentation Debrief
Commissioner Chan debriefed the Commission on the BPAC presentation at the May 6tn
City Council meeting.
