Subject: Planning Commission agenda
Ladies and Gentleman,
The latest Biltmore plan, calling for seven additional units at its original site, is on the agenda for May 27. Now, as you are
aware, it is not only neighbors within 300 feet who are affected by this, and we should not have to monitor web sites on
almost a daily basis in order not to be taken by surprise. Yet the e-mail containing the agenda was sent out only five days,
not ten days, in advance, and to make matters worse, it was sent the day before a long week-end for a meeting the day
after the long week-end!
If the Planning Commission is in compliance with noticing requirements, it is only in the most narrow, technical
sense. Out of fairness to the community, this agenda item should be postponed.
Thank you.

Subject: apartment expansion at Rodriguez & Blaney
Hi,
I'd like to state that I, as you should be, am firmly opposed to any expansion of the
apartments at the intersection of Blaney and Rodriguez. They're currently asking to
revitalize a building (which sounds fine) and to add seven more units (which is a bad idea).
Why is adding more units bad?
Where the heck do you think the additional 14 to 21 cars are going to PARK?
The street along the complex is already full. There is absolute no place to put additional
cars!
Remember, the stretch of Blaney along the apartment complex was *** NO PARKING *** for many
years, until money apparently convinced some people to change it. Don't let that happen
again. (Indeed, I'd rather see Blaney returned to the original (pre 1995?) non-parking to
make Blaney a safer, nicer street.)
Also, don't forget that Rodriguez has not only been promised to remain mostly no-parking, but
you are STILL OVERDUE on returning the portion of Blaney near the civic center / library back
to no-parking, the way it was before the (allegedly temporary) change made to allow parking
while construction was going on. The construction has been over and done with for years . . .
but you haven't returned that stretch back to no-parking as promised. Instead, we get a
narrower, less-safe road with visible commercial ads (a van with commercial markings placed
to function as a mobile billboard) .
No . . . why are you even *thinking* about expanding the need for parking with *FIRST*
addressing the parking problem?
thanks,
